Exceptional 10.0
Great stay with 2 kids, but only a hot tub
Spent the week here for spring break. Location is central to lots of great city attractions and feet from the arenas. Plenty to eat see and do nearby. We had a suite with separate bedroom, it was spacious and clean and well outfitted if we wanted to cook as well. Only heard teens running through hallway once, otherwise really quiet. Parking is below building and secure and easy access for in/out, but it costs $28 per night. Elevators are a bit slow. Breakfast was standard comp fare, but it was spacious and CLEAN, and the staff was exceptional! They replenished items and cleaned tables super fast, and then still walked around offering beverages, and even gave our kids coloring gear! Leah especially was great, thanks! The pool is not a pool but a hot tub. It’s a big hot tub, and it’s in the tippy top of the building next to the gym so it’s got a great view. Kids are welcome, but it’s hot in there so little guys can get overheated real quick. Speaking of the gym, it’s also got a great view and some nice equipment, but super distracting to use. Why? People in soaking wet bathing suits walk through it in both directions to/from hot tub. Floor gets wet. Then there’s foosball and ping pong IN the gym, so there’s kids screaming and playing inches from where youre exercising. It’s just not a good sharing of space. If they moved the games closer to the pool that might be a good start but parents let their kids hang out up there unattended and they act a fool.

The room was clean and the bed was comfy however they need new sheets that don’t make a loud sound when one person moves in bed and ends up waking the other person up. Also they feel like paper bags. We tried to order room service once before our show on a Friday night because every place within a two block radius was an hour wait just to get in however they told us our food would take 20-25 mins but it took more like 30-45 mins and we ended up leaving for our show without having gotten our food and they never left it in the hotel room. The breakfast was good however having a fresh omelette made to preference with veggies etc instead of just from a frozen egg omelette cooked would be better and choice of turkey and normal bacon and also an option of salsa on the side in a container maybe or for the eggs or other things. Last thing is need stronger better actually tasteful coffee in rooms instead of tasteless water tasting coffee with the taste of the whitner . How can anyone wake up properly with that? Also some suggestions would be More options for tea and more sugar in room too. Overall we enjoyed our stay and loved it was right by B.C. stadium and have a safe parking garage underneath.

A few details short of greatness
It's an excellent hotel overall with a location that's walkable to much of downtown (a few blocks from Rogers Arena and across the street from BC Place Stadium). Try to get the room with jacuzzi, it's spacious with a great view. Hot breakfast was no omelette bar, but it served me well with eggs, ham or sausage, oatmeal, fruits, and pastry items. Just off the lobby is a good restaurant/bar, and a nice little coffee shop, among other vendors. About those details. The room had that familiar smell of a vacuum bag or filter that was overdue for changing. They have outlets with integrated USB in the breakfast dining area, but not in my room. That's a fairly easy upgrade. The shower curtain did not come close to spanning the length of the tub, an even easier fix. The parking lot was very tight and somewhat treacherous (NOT an easy fix I'm sure), but quite secure, on par with a hotel lot in a major downtown area. The staff was very friendly and helpful more than once, as one would expect from a Canadian crew. :-) Check in and out was pretty easy. After my 2nd stay here, I would definitely return here for my next NHL game in Vancouver.

Great hotel accessible to everything in Vancouver
Good breakfast, walking distance to subway/bus service, Science World, Gas Town, restaurants and shopping. Next to White Caps and Canucks stadiums. Shuttle to cruise port. Comp snacks and drinks available throughout the day. Nice fitness center, whirlpool, and sauna with roof-top access. Ping pong and Foosball fun for families. Nice staff. It was perfect for us.

Hamptonality
Flew in from Kelowna for concert and was early for check-in. Prepared to return later when reception fellow says - wait, I have a room for you. Reception girl looked at him in surprise. For $300 he put me in a corner room beside aged elevator with an alley view. I had gone online directly to hotel to book room well in advance. I questioned him about my BCAA discount benefit and he declined saying I booked via expedia which wasn't the case. It was a "bucket list" trip for me. I am 70 yrs old and partially disabled with a incurable health problem. Reception had no way of knowing this, of course, but could have shown some empathy or pretended to care.
