Nice hotel right next to the Termini Station (so we saved money by taking the Leonardo Express train to/from airport). Good restaurant next door and sundry store across the street.

Great Hotel - Large Room and great breakfast
This hotel is beautiful. Old building but must have been a total gut job. While I find most independent hotels in Europe depressing -- this is on par with a Marriott. And - while the lobby is small - from what I can figure there are 5 floors of rooms with 20 rooms on a floor - so this is not small. The breakfast is lovely. I would stay here again if the price was right - in a new york minute. Across the street from the train station and the subway. I actually walked to the Colosseum (20 minutes) and took the subway to the Vatican for a tour and walked home (30 minutes) and lunch on the way. The Hop On and Off bus - all three different ones - start a block away at the train station. The only think weird about this hotel for Americans would be - no shower soap just a small small bottle of bath gel which I hate - no shampoo and conditioner and no kleenix. I have come to expect that in Europe so travel with my own. But be prepared.

Overall, hotel was good. Found the breakfast lacking options and there was no working A/C.

Location was great, but the hotel could have been much better... upon booking I thought I was getting the deluxe room, which I ended up upgrading to myself after several attempts once I arrived and was very disappointed by the room. The gentleman at the front desk kept telling me that it wasn’t available when I knew it was as I tried booking it myself through I guess maybe he thought I wouldn’t pay the extra. I was so upset, as I was on my 15th day of traveling all over Europe, I just wanted to get into my room, and I explained to him I had requested a tub... he was not hearing it. I gave up and when were leaving to head out to get a bite for dinner, then he saw that I was very unhappy and he said he had a deluxe but I would have to pay the difference and I told him I would have done that from the very beginning. Once we changed, the deluxe didn’t even have a real king size bed and the sheets and pillows were awful. The linens in the bathroom were terrible, they were like cloth napkins as opposed to hand towels and no wash cloths, stiff sheets. Just very uncomfortable ....then we saw that they had a sister hotel across the street, I suggest maybe try that? It looks a bit nicer? But we didn’t check it out. The walls were so thin, there were kids literally staying in the hotel ... high school kids on a trip of some sort and the walls were super thin you could hear everything. They were very rowdy. Then, the breakfast 👎
