Probably better on most other days
I arrive to a hotel under construction where you cannot access the front door. They are doing their best to maintain operations through a major remodel. The room had too much stuff in it for the size of the room. On the day of check out the service elevator was the only one working so I was forced to walk outside and around to get back into the lobby. The staff was very apologetic and helpful. The room above me has a leak in the bathroom that I woke up to. In a year or two I would try this hotel again.

I would have liked to know about the construction
Arrived at the hotel to find it was in the midst of a massive remodeling. Lobby was closed, getting through the temporary reception area required climbing a flight of stairs (although later we discovered a construction elevator). The area itself was chaotic and checkin took more than 30 minutes -- staff were friendly and apologetic, but even after I had a verbal confirmation at the desk that the room would have 2 queen beds, we got there and it didn't, and we waited a long time with the clerk phoning maintenance and then leaving her post to find another room consistent with what we had reserved and paid for. She offered a glass of wine to make up for things but it was 3 in the afternoon. Reservation had indicated breakfast was included, but no breakfast or breakfast room available on site -- only thermoses of truly terrible coffee and tea. The room was comfortable enough. I'm still a bit steamed that they charged my credit card a $100 deposit -- not a hold, but an actual charge -- with no information about when it might be refunded ("could take a couple of weeks.")

Great location!
Great hotel, but they were renovating the lobby area. Was just a minor inconvenience, but the staff made up for it with their positive attitude!

I recommend that you stay someplace else!!!
From the moment we walked into the hotel I should have gone with my gut instinct and cancelled my reservation. It is under MAJOR renovations. To get to the hotel lobby you had to walk through a maze. Once there they were setup on foldout tables with their computers. Then you had to walk back through the maze to get to the elevator. The room itself was also less than adequate. They had a typed note in our room appologizing for the mismatched furniture hoping that we understood what they were going through with the remodeling. We didn't have hot water one evening due to a boiler going out...they didn't have any idea when it might be repaired. I wanted a shower then after being out running around as a tourist all day. We has a very nice expensive dinner planned already that evening, which was our last night. They offered us a $100 coupon to the restaurant next door...which in my opinion, wasn't a place I wanted to eat on my last night. We had been hearing from other hotel guest all week that they were offered the same thing due to the construction. We called Hotels.com to see if they could do anything. They called the hotel...once they stated who they were they put them on hold for over 10 minutes...then didn't answer any further calls from Hotels.com. My son stayed at Zephyr...the cost is comapable but it was wonderful!
