I have stayed at this Hotel on 5 occasions. My last two stays there have been issues with the heating system. I love the hotel but I don't like waking up to a cold room.

Talking walk signs
If you are sensitive to noise, be sure to avoid rooms along Main Street. The audible walk signs tick 24 hour per day.

The heat/AC was very noisy in room 300. The local street walk/stop beeper was also noisy in that room. If I stay there again I would request a room on the other side of the hotel.

A charming, slightly quirky, excellent stay!
I reserved a three-night stay through hotels.com, but on the Boone Tavern's end it appeared as three separate one-night reservations. Boone Tavern said they'd fix it, but the next morning I was woken up at 11:30 because I hadn't yet checked out. However, once I explained the situation, they were very apologetic and comped me some meals in their restaurant. Boone Tavern itself has a nice "homey" feel to it, while still having all the expected amenities of a modern hotel. All staff were super-friendly and helpful. I did wonder why the front doors close after a certain hour despite a staff member manning the front desk all night; when I returned to Boone Tavern each night, it was usually between 12–2a, and I had to walk around to the side of the building and ring a doorbell to summon the desk clerk to let me in. It was weird, mildly inconvenient, and seemingly unnecessary. I liked having a metal room key; it felt appropriate to the classical, aged ambiance of the hotel. My bed was super-comfy. I did miss having a little in-room refrigerator. All-in-all, I received excellent value for my money and recommend Boone Tavern to anyone staying in Berea—especially above the other options in that small little burg.
