The phone didn’t work, the refrigerator didn’t refrigerate it was broken, the carpets were filthy dirty you could see spots all over, everything else was okay.

Check-in was not good. Our room wasn’t ready at 3:00 pm. We were told to return at 5:00 pm, but our room still wasn’t ready at that time. Upon returning from an event at 10:00 pm, we were finally able to get a room. There was a long line of unhappy guests who experienced the same thing. The front desk staff informed us that they were severely short staffed. They were nice and accommodating, and they tried their best to help everyone. We felt sorry for them because they had to deal with so many angry guests. The problem appeared to have occurred due to a lack of planning and organization (perhaps because of a recent change in ownership/management). We have been going to this lovely, wonderful hotel for 20 years and have never had a bad experience like this. We hope that the staffing issues will be resolved in the future.

Check in was fine. The room was clean, the decor was pleasing. I requested extra glasses that never came. Had to go on a hunt to find the restrooms in the morning which ended up being in the lower level - no big deal, but once I got there they were locked, so had to go back up to have someone come down and unlock them. Not terrible, but very inconvenient when you have to use the facilities. Valet is not clearly marked and easy to miss. Staff had no clue that there was a concert at the arena that evening and were woefully understaffed. Bar/restaurant staff were slow, incompetent and rude (what bartender makes 5 drinks by prepping/pouring them one at a time instead of getting out 5, filling with ice as needed, etc...??!!). Staff refused to even look our way during our mediocre meal. Asked for tartar sauce, got chocolate then told they didn't have tartar (they did in September the last time we stayed here). Had our drink comped (thank you) but the service was so bad, and the food WAY overpriced for the quality, that we were extremely disappointed. Decided it is not nearly convenient enough to stay here again in the future.

Rude customer service at front desk. Housekeeping ended at 5:30 we asked at 5:00 and said they were gone. Said they would at least replace towels and they never did. Really unprofessional and did not have any helping information on parking nearby.

Very tired. This place has potential but understaffed. Mostly by the restaurant/bar area. Street side rooms can be very noisy on weekend. Rooms are nice. Looks to have recent makeover.

The front desk staff was wonderful. Expedia has failed to send my reservation to the hotel and the Expedia agent we contacted was basically worthless in solving the issue, but the front desk representative went out of her way to to resolve the issue and upgraded me to a corner room for the inconvenience that was solely Expedia’s fault. 5 stars for Hotel De Anza & Zero stars for Expedia.

All accessed amenities were, at the least, ergonomic and thoughtful. The only complaint (or rather, concern) we had was about the lack of nearby, available, self parking. But, we also understand that space downtown is limited.
