save your money and skip the anxiety.
We were not pleased with this hotel or the staff. Most disagreeable people we met on our two trip to the U.K. shower and tub side to high to climb into. Garden below our room held loud parties. Breakfast was like eating lead balls. It seemed like a old flea-bag hotel. We will never stay there again!

Don’t trust the photos
Not anything like the pictures. I had a Murphy bed and then had to be moved because the airline conditioner dripped on my bed.

Cute quaint hotel 5 min walk to tube
The hotel was great except very luke warm water for baths. That was disappointing after long days of walking. Also missed wash cloths. Need more outlets, outlets in difficult locations and not enough of the. Staff very friendly and helpful, breakfast nice.

Nice room, the second try
we were first directed to a basement room, which we thought would be too dark. When we opened the window we found we were four feet from the dumpster. I quickly went back to the desk and asked for a room on a higher level. After a few minutes I was taken to look at a room on the top (3rd) floor, which was lovely. It looked out on the back garden and had two openable windows. We were very happy there. Staff was all nice and courteous. Would stay there again if such a room was available. Great location.

Clean (but small) room, lost iPhone recovered
My friend and I stayed 2 nights at the hotel while staying in London. It is pretty centrally located and we are fans of walking. But there are bus stops right in front of the hotel or trains are also nearby. We had a 2 twin bed room and were in the 3rd floor. The floor layout is weird because they connected several buildings over the years (the address is 2-5) so the hallways are narrow and sometimes have uneven surfaces, so watch your step. The room was clean, but small. The bathtub/shower is not easy to get in to, rather high up. So people with balance problems may have issues. There are no outlets in the bathroom (other than for shavers) which is not uncommon in the UK. There is a hairdryer in the desk drawer, which also has a nice sized mirror across from it. The light switches are tricky, the gold one is the master and is tied to all other lights in the room, including the bathroom. To have the room completely dark, you need to turn off the gold switch. However, we decided to leave it on, which left very dimly lit ceiling lights on all night. Which we found helpful for late night bathroom trips. They have a tea set in a box on the wall. I only took the cookies :) I forgot my iPhone in the room and called while I was at the train station. It took 2-3 calls (I had to follow up) to get a response that they located it and would store it in the safe until I got back the following day. They were great about that. Overall a good stay and moderately priced.

This was our second stay at Grange Whitehall. It's in a nice location, a quiet street adjacent to the British Museum and close to the Piccadilly line. We were generally happy with our stay this time, except for the long time it took to check in. There were several people waiting before us, and only one staff member to check everyone in, so it took a while We had been hoping to rest and unpack a bit before going out, but we ran out of time and had to leave immediately. I was also disappointed that there seemed to be no record of my request for a room facing the courtyard.

Very nice hotel, centrally located - right next to British Museum, tube stations, etc. It was convenient for the conference I attended at University of London, just a couple of blocks from the site.

Overall the hotel was good and the neighborhood was fine as to meeting our purposes for rail and tube access. The room was rather small but adequate for a single. Both the room and the bathroom were clean, the desk staff was friendly, the wifi worked well, and there was a lobby bar, as well as 24 hour room service. I did not use the restaurant which is only open for breakfast. My only complaint was that I ordered a taxi for an early departure and instead of the taxi that I specifically requested, they booked a car service which cost almost double the taxi rate. It caused disappointment vs an overall good stay...

British Museum Adjacent
We wanted to spend some serious time at the British Museum and the White Hall Hotel location was perfect. Comfortable neighborhood, lots of shops and restaurants, and a walk to the Strand for theater. View of the garden was lovely.
