ROACHES. We had issues with the microwave and the toilet and both times we had to go down to the desk and get what we needed to fix it ourselves. Beds had zero cushioning and were hard as a rock. The sleeper couch was so old and worn that it would not have been possibly to sleep on it due to being lumpy and the metal bar in the center under the mattress. There was a cooktop and full fridge but you are expected to bring your own pots pans silverwhere plates, everything. The bathroom door didnt close all the way and the thermostat was broken. The only thing it had going for it was it was 2 blocks from the beach and it was super cheap. If you just need a roof over your head then it might be worth the risk. Would not go back and would not recommend bringing your family if you plan to spend any time in the room.
The room was spacious and comfortable. Staff was friendly. The garage was hard to navigate. We had a room with a kitchen in it. There was no coffee pot. A coffee pot in the room would be more convenient than having to go to the lobby.
Excellent service! House keeper was very Kind.
It was what u pay for no frills....
I had roaches in my room. They could really take the time and money to renovate.
We called to let staff know that we would be checking in late. They told us that was okay, but never noted it, so the night clerk wasn't aware. The exterior walkways were in bad repair, the elevator doors struggled to open & close, and the parking garage is extremely tight & dirty. Our room didn’t appear to have been cleaned (6 months into the COVID pandemic). Refrigerator & counters were filthy. Dirty walls, mirror, tub, and toilet in the bathroom area. The furnishings and carpet were worn and frayed. Bed had an odd and fairly fresh white stain on the headboard. We took our luggage back to the car, found another hotel for our planned 4-night stay, and checked out after less than 90 minutes. The night clerk promised a call from the general manager the next morning. Once it got to afternoon without contact, we involved Expedia. Lost the first night's charges ,but at least we got the remainder refunded.
There was only one elevator & one stairwell to get to anything over the 2nd floor. We staied on the 6th floor.. The elevator is the oldest peice of crap ever - it had no airconditioning or ventalation so it felt like a hot box & it kept malfunctioning. the door kept getting stuck im a half open position but the elevator would still move to a different floor with a half opened door. It would start to move while my kids were still getting on or off which was terrifing bc it easily could have killed them. It got stuck several times & then would sort of drop to get back on track - it was awful. Another guest comolained & so a hotel employee claimed to be "fixing it" useing a philips head screw driver & a can of WD-40 - the very young employee looked like he had no idea how a can opener worked, much less an elevator. After that we tried to take the stairs but it was in the 90's for all of that trip & the enclosed concrete stairwell also had no ventalation & no air-condition which made it feel even hotter than out side. the stairwell smelled like cig smoke, urine, and vomit if you can imagine that smell in a 90 degree concrete stairwell. I am in great shape, i run 3-5miles most days but walking those stairs was very difficult, it was hard to breath & my kids werent able to make it so we ended up back on the death trap of an elevator. Other than that, i liked the hotel & the location was great - i will probably go back but will ask for a 1st or 2nd floor room.
There were no amenities such as what normally comes in rooms and for this to be suite it didn’t have the basics! We had to provide our own ... the air was not working properly.
Very dirty range didn’t work it took 2 men & 1 whole day without tv to get it working
The hotel smelled like an ash tray as soon as we opened the door to walk inside. The bathroom was very disgusting. Pubic hair all over the toilet seat, along with droplets of blood in the toilet. As we approached the bedroom, the bed sheets had cigarette burn holes in them, and I knew right away I was not staying there with my 4 year old and 16 month old. We traveled over 9 hours away only to be disapointed and spent most of the day finding a decent hotel room to stay in. It took Expedia forever to refund our money, and we weren’t even there for an hour. That hour was spent at the beach, and they still took our money for the first nights stay. Very disapointed, will never return, or even book through Expedia again. It was our first and LAST time. Next time we go to Virginia, we will make sure to book over the phone through the hotel front desk, and make sure it’s ocean front. I do not recommend this hotel to ANYONE unless you’re on a tight budget.
