Rough Start
Normally my experience with Holiday Inn's are good without any issues. However, this time around was stressful. My party booked 2 rooms and in the first 30 minutes of checking in 1 room, my husband's sock caught on a fish hook that was attached to the room's carpet. Luckily, it did not catch his foot, but it was quite scary knowing that there was a fish hook in the carpet. The fish hook blended into the carpet which is why my husband didn't see it. We gave the front desk the fish hook after unhooking it from the carpet and sock. They just said that they would let their manager know. In the other hotel room, the electricity went out. The TV and lights weren't turning on. We notified the front desk and they weren't sure what to do, so they just moved us to a different room. In our new room, the AC wasn't working. When we called the front desk they walked us through on how to reset the AC. We had to go underneath the AC unit, make sure it was plugged in, and press the reset button. After 10 minutes of struggling and looking for the reset button, the front desk offered to come reset it for us or switch us to a different room. Right after asking, we were able to find the reset button and the AC turned back on. Luckily, no other issues happened. The hotel was fairly clean, good breakfast buffet, clean outdoor pool, friendly staff. However, after the fish hook incident, the power turning off, and troubleshooting the AC unit ourselves, it was not an overall enjoyable experience.
