The best in Ski Hotels!
Stein Eriken is a fantastic hotel located mid-mountain in the Silver Lake Village. The hotel features the best ski concierge service anywhere. Private lockers along with valets who place your skis in the snow and put on and remove your boots for the night. The restaurant features a wonderful breakfast buffet but the lunch buffet is not to be missed! It is well worth the price and includes fresh shellfish, wild game chili, multiple salads, gourmet entrees and vegetables as well as a desert bar that is almost as large as the food area. Dining at night has a lovely ambiance and room service from the restaurant is just as good. The hotel has always been a fantastic as I have stayed there for 13 years. For the first time ever, I was not pleased with the room location. It has been my experience before that location is always a factor when the room has been booked on It was as far from the main part of the hotel as possible and the view was nothing more than 2 giant pine trees that were 5 feet from the window. The rate should have been lower for this room due to the horrible location and lack of views. Other than that, the rooms there are very elegant with wonderful amenities including 2 fireplaces, 2 full bathrooms, steam in master shower, full kitchen, and laundry outside in the vestibule.

Not worth the cost
Very nice hotel, small room with minimum extras. The hotel is an older style hotel, so if you like the feel of dated rooms then it works. The room was very small for the price and you have to walk from building to building which is not a big deal until it is stormy and windy. The bathroom is larger and the tub is nice. I expected much more for the price, I have stayed in many other hotels in the $600-$800 a night range and this was the least impressive by a lot. The entry is nice, but i don't care much about how the lobby is. I doubt I will stay here again, many other options that are newer and nicer for as much or less in Park City.

Great Service, Rooms need updating.
The great - The service was 5 star amazing! Absolutely wonderful! The not so great - The rooms are in need of updating and do not reflect a 5 star resort. You can tell where they have peicemealed some updates to the room and not updated other areas. The toilets are from the 80's and I felt like I was sitting on the ground and I'm only 5'1"! The door to the bathroom still has the original brass handles and the brass is wearing off and the stain on the door is worn looking. There are at least 4 different fixture finishes in the bathroom area showing the different times things have been updated but there is no cohesiveness at all. You would think a 5 star resort would at least hire an interior designer to make sure everything looked good together as they made upgrades. The drain in the tub was broken and the shower head was cheap and terrible. Other areas of the resort were in need of updating as well. Overall a great stay due to the service, they just need to get the rooms up to the level they have their service!
