The location to the town of Belfast was perfect, sitting just 7 minutes away, making it easy to pop in and grab coffee or breakfast before hitting the beach. It was the perfect spot to enjoy a quiet, private beach, even though the beach was more rock than sand - but at least our things weren’t covered in sand! We had the best time here, would definitely recommend to friends and family.

This place was a real gem. There are a few dozen cottages all with an ocean view. We walked the beach at low tide to collect shells. The cabins are small, but very well equipped. We went to a nearby grocery and made our dinner at the cabin. We will definitely go back. The price was a fraction of what staying in down town Bar Harbor costs, and its views are much better.

the place is Great, right on the water with a small beach, 5 minutes away from Youngs Lobster pound which has great lobster. They are about an hour fifteen minutes to Bar Harbor but at a price that makes it worth it. Did not find a lot to do in Downtown Belfast but the ocean views make up for that. We were only there for a few days and when we left my Wife and I both said we were going to go back and stay longer next.

If you are looking for all the bells and whistles, this might not be the place for you, but if you want a nice ocean side cottage, this is the place for you. The staff was amazing and there was shuffle board and horseshoes on the property as well as a campfire you could light every night. The location was convenient but not really very walkable to any place. The bed was comfortable and we had everything we needed to rustle up a small meal. We would definitely stay again.

Colonial Gables was so great! We were in town for a birthday and waking up to the sound and smell of the ocean was the perfect way to start the day. The staff was friendly and efficient. The cabin was spotless with thoughtful towel designs. The kitchenette had everything you needed for a lite meal. I would recommend this place to everyone. I’m looking forward to a return trip!

We always enjoy our stays at Colonial Gables and Cottages. Every cabin has a wonderful view of the bay. The kitchenettes are just the right size to cook a meal (just remember to bring your own paper plates, napkins or paper towels). Each cottage has a few cooking pans, bowls, coffee mugs and utensils. Are you staying with a bigger family, that is more than 3? They offer 2 bedroom cabins, that will sleep more. Looking for activities for the family? They offer a volleyball net, small play activity center for the kids, you can walk the beach looking for seaglass, and a beach fire pit to make those yummy s'more treats. Go ahead and book your stay. You will enjoy every minute of it!!

Things were mostly nice. However, the kitchen equipment was almost unusable. The pots and pans were badly warped. The knives were completely worn and unable to cut bread better than a spoon. No basics like paper towels, salt, pepper, etc. are provided. The bathroom didn't have so much as a vanity, table, or even a ledge to put items: had to put them on the floor. The bed was comfortable and the main room was pleasant. Overall, I booked this place for the view and to cook myself, and was barely able to cook. For less than 1/4 the cost of the room itself, they could have provided brand new functional kitchenware.
