Bummer that the bar was closed for renovations. But overall great experience!

Okay stay
First room I was in had no AC. The room was musty and warm. I called front desk and told them the room was hot. She acted like she didn’t know that. Anyway, they did put us in another room. Also there were no hand soaps at all. I had to use the bath shower gel to wash my hands

2 Stars for warm and worn
Room temp never got cool and furniture/decor in living area of suite was very dated and worn. The staff and city view were nice but overall, really disappointed.

Do you like to sweat ?
I have stayed at The Magnolia upwards of 8-10 times in the past few years. It’s always been a great value and a great place to stay. This visit upon check-in staff was nice but the lobby and common areas seemed kinda warm. Then going to my room i found the air in the room wasn’t working at all. Before unpacking I asked for a different room. They said it was not a big deal they would send someone to fix. Well they did but it wasn’t fix or not completely. We spent the duration of our stay hot, miserable and uncomfortable. After speaking with the front desk we were offered to move rooms (at 1am) when we were checking out at 11. Moving rooms is what should have happened as requested the second I checked into a room with non working AC. I’m a gold member and that should have reflected in my reservation notes. I likely will not stay there again and I’m a bit let down that at my status level this is how something was handled

Clean, but Outdated and Noisy
If you need to stay close to the AT&T Discovery District, it'll do. But, if the location isn't the most important factor for you, I would suggest looking elsewhere. Positives: Location, cleanliness and the staff were pleasant and efficient. Negatives: The property is dated. With renovations and quality repairs, it could be great place to stay. Unfortunately, the A/C is awful and it wasn't just our room - there were people in the elevator discussing how they had to move rooms to get A/C that worked. There was a paper towel shoved into the sprinkler head in the shower, painted duct tape on the windowsill, window shades that wouldn't open, cracks in the floor tiles, old carpet, etc. The NOISE outside is BAD - we were on the 19th floor facing the AT&T District and the noise from cars revving their engines until 2AM and emergency vehicles coming and going meant we didn't get much sleep. Also, they only have Valet at $40 + tax. Make sure you have correct change for a tip, as the property is “cashless” and the valet attendants may try to swindle you. We tipped $5 upon drop off and that went without a hitch. But, when we were ready to leave the next day, we handed the attendant a $20 bill and asked for $15 back (for another $5 tip). They pulled out a wad of cash and said they don't have anything less than $10 bills. Needless to say, when we were about to leave without tipping them anything they came up with smaller bills.

Need better service.
Stayed here for a confrence. I was suprised to find out that the bar was closed for renovatoins. Other than that, I had asked for extra towels and never recieved them. Other than that, the room was nice. Room service did not speak english, so that may have been the barrier.

Great location, historic hotel
The hotel is in a great location, depending on what is going on in the ATT Discovery Center, will determine on how quiet your room is at the Magnolia. Our room was pretty noisy until around 1am. The hotel customer service is top notch, very helpful and courteous people. Our room's AC wasn't very good, the engineer checked it out and said it was working but it never cooled off. We had requested a fan in our room to at least make it tolerable to sleep for the night.
