If you need to stay close to the AT&T Discovery District, it'll do. But, if the location isn't the most important factor for you, I would suggest looking elsewhere.
Positives: Location, cleanliness and the staff were pleasant and efficient.
Negatives: The property is dated. With renovations and quality repairs, it could be great place to stay.
Unfortunately, the A/C is awful and it wasn't just our room - there were people in the elevator discussing how they had to move rooms to get A/C that worked. There was a paper towel shoved into the sprinkler head in the shower, painted duct tape on the windowsill, window shades that wouldn't open, cracks in the floor tiles, old carpet, etc. The NOISE outside is BAD - we were on the 19th floor facing the AT&T District and the noise from cars revving their engines until 2AM and emergency vehicles coming and going meant we didn't get much sleep. Also, they only have Valet at $40 + tax. Make sure you have correct change for a tip, as the property is “cashless” and the valet attendants may try to swindle you. We tipped $5 upon drop off and that went without a hitch. But, when we were ready to leave the next day, we handed the attendant a $20 bill and asked for $15 back (for another $5 tip). They pulled out a wad of cash and said they don't have anything less than $10 bills. Needless to say, when we were about to leave without tipping them anything they came up with smaller bills.
