I loved santa monica and the beach access the hotel had to it. But On expedia it said I was only suppose to be charged 130 and some change. Got there and they put a hold on my card for 940! which i did not have in there because i was expecting the 130 which then over-drafted my account. No one warned me they were going to hold that much or else i would have been prepared. But now I have to pay their fee plus another 100 dollars in over-draft fees! I asked two front desk employees about it and they didn't know what to say except that someone did something wrong on the account and they apologize. Can I at least get my refund for the over-draft fees, it could have been preventable if they communicated the prices properly.

Very short stay but lovely
The Merigot is right on the Santa Monica beach which is perfect for walking (too bad I was at a conference). The staff and the valet personnel were really wonderful. I got 2 ice cold bottles of water when I arrived and when I left. My only complaint was that a 3oz (do they even make glasses that small) martini was $20.00!! Ridiculous. the pillows were delicious.
