Exceptional 10.0
Our stay was last minute and the staff couldn’t have been more accommodating. They gave us a restaurant suggestion that was one of the best meals we had in Portugal. Location was central and offered lots of options for dining, shopping and sight seeing. Very comfortable hotel

Poor room design; excellent location
Poor design choices plague an otherwise excellent location. • Whoever designed the bathroom should be forced to use it for a year. Bathroom cramps in a bidet that takes up too much space, resulting in a tiny box shower. • The shower is small and on top of that, it has water handles that use almost one fourth of the horizontal space. You end up bumping into the handles constantly. Has to be the worst shower space I've ever had in a hotel. At least the wash basin is decent. • The room has no open outlets by the night stands for phone charging. • The headboard was designed for king size bed, but the mattress is full size. Result is one of the night stands is far from the bed. • Dining area is cramped yet they use armed chairs that don’t slide under the table, taking up considerable floor space in a tight room. • Breakfast itself was sub par with overcooked and rubbery eggs. • Two elevators that are only slightly larger than the shower stalls. Have to pay attention to their arrival as there is no tone or alert to let you they have arrived and you should enter. Otherwise they move on. • Front desk was gracious enough to recommend a fantastic self-serve laundromat nearby instead of the expensive service via the hotel. Personnel was good though understaffed at peak times. • In-room AC was superb. Very quiet and effective. • Grundig alarm clock had a real dim display setting that doesn’t blind you at night. This place has so much potential, if designed better.

fair hotel good location.
Hotel was fair. You get what you pay for, Location was perfect. Surrounding terrible very old and dirty, lots of beautiful historic buildings but were run down builings. There were also some beautiful updated building. Many homeless people beging out on the street that came over to our table at different outdoor restaurants.

Oporto is not easy to navigate, as most people know. But this hotel makes that as reasonable as can be expected, and the city is worth it.
