Maldron Hotel Pearse Street, Dublin

Fair not wonderful
The downside of the room is it was dark. Very poor lighting. Also, no shelf at all in the shower so soap, etc. had to be put on the floor. I also thought it was closer to the "heart of things"; it was a 20 min. walk. The room was clean and breakfast good.

Couldn’t have been been better
Comfortable beds. Friendly and very helpful front desk and restaurant staff. Great location. Wonderful breakfast. Very spacious room with in-room coffee and tea. All around very wonderful hotel.

No air in double rooms (quads)
Trying to find a room for four was very difficult in Dublin. When we arrived at our room, it was extremely warm. I went down to ask how to turn the air conditioner on and the hotel indicated that the double (quads) did not have air conditioning. When I reviewed the hotel it did say air conditioning and I never realized that the double room would be different! The hotel did provide us with two fans, but it was warm! The room was right on the street and very loud with the windows open. I was also disappointed when I went down to print our boarding passes for the fight, I had to pay for the computer and the printed passes. At $425 a night that is crazy!!! We were flying Ryan air and needed a paper copy. Needless to say, I would not recommend the hotel if you are staying in a double (quad) unless you don't care about air conditioning! The hotel was in an easy location to walk to most visitor sites.

No frills but great value
Nice property that's off-the-beaten path but not far from the major attractions like Trinity College, the Dublin Convention Center and various museums. The bed was not the most comfortable, but otherwise a good value, especially with full breakfast included.
