Great weekend at the Midland
Shortly after we arrived we went for High Tea in the lounge and it was outstanding- so much we had to take the sweets to our room for later consumption. Staff was always very helpful. We were very impressed by our young bearded server in the restaurant- very knowledgeable in explaining how the drinks are prepared and the foods prepared.

Wonderful historic hotel
Great stay at The Midland. It was my first time here. My room was huge! The hotel, despite being busy, was quiet, and the service was excellent. I had something mailed to me at the hotel that arrived a few days before I did - the staff had it for me upon arrival.

Holiday
This is a nice hotel but you have to park in a car park a block or two away. It is obvious this hotel is worn around the edges. Doors, windows edges and floor moldings will one too many coats of paint on them. Some signs of wear. Out bathroom door had a small hole in it and the paint around one of the windows wash chipping from being too thick and old. The breakfast is too expensive for what you get. We had a room with 2 double beds. They were almost up against each other so those sleeping on the inside had to crawl over the bed. there should have been a few feet of space between each bed.

Hotel great, breakfast really bad.
Hotel is beautiful. We stayed for two nights and used many bars, rooms and all were to a high standard. The food for the wedding was excellent, which is always challenging so that brings me to how disappointing the breakfast buffet is. The 'hot' food was not hot, (any of it) and the cold food was not cold. The meats were cheap quality, bacon and sausage were bland and cold. Had to ask for milk, eggs, coffee etc. for 20 pounds each (if not included in the room) it was terrible. It is a big let down for a hotel of that quality.
