Crowne Plaza Dead Sea, Ein Bokek
This hotel has deteriorated since my trip last year. The lobby and lounge is shabby with ripped furniture. Hotel reception is understaffed and requires a long wait to check in. Clearly catering to groups. Food quality at both breakfast buffet and dinner buffet leaves much to be desired. Vegetables and salad wilted. Canned mushrooms used, Disappointing and tired spa treatment rooms. Wonderful beach access but will not return unless services and facilities are overhauled

Meh, with a side of something else next time.
Hotel staff's impatience and inattentiveness mostly due to poor training and management. Hotel at greater cost but offers fewer amenities than it's neighbors. All you really get is pool, showers, sauna and beach access (beach access can be gotten at various [non-hotel] locations along the coast free of charge. If you are traveling with a car, you're better off looking for a quaint and cozy boutique location that will pay attention to you, and drive to any of the other, many beaches and pay a day-rate for use of facilities. At least they offer mud with which to treat yourself with their packages -- at the crown plaza, mud treatment along with others that bring people to the Dead Sea are luxuries and excluded from the price of admission. While the rooms are clean and the sea-facing balconies have great views, the public spaces of the hotel are comparable to hotels 1 star rating below and lower [which is why I gave the hotel's cleanliness a middle rating] Lastly, even though says payment is made in full and includes taxes and fees, the hotel charges more taxes and fees upon arrival, regardless of whether you already paid [seemingly] in full. Doesn't feel like a 4 or 5 star hotel because without the CP name, it is not one.

We ended up staying one day. The staff were accommodating with our reservation and invited us to breakfast in lieu of the lunch. We appreciate this gesture on their behalf. Thank you.

good location for seeing Masada
The Hotel is located is area by the dead sea. There are other Hotels nearby but not a whole lot else It is a resort. The Hotel does need to be updated. The views from the room were exceptionally. We had the upgraded room. Please note there are balconies and suites but they do not sell them through The rooms need to be better ariconditioned are room was warm at best. The ariconditioner are on a motion detector so they shut off when you leave the room. It takes a long time to cool off. The food is the bar is good. Hotel buffets are ok. Lots of food, the atmosphere in there is not great. The hotel is very convenient for seeing Masada and other historical places near the dead sea

Some issues but still a quality hotel
Overall we had a good stay. Parking is a big problem at the hotel, they have an insufficient number of spots for guests and once someone left and I was able to take their parking spot, it was a very tight squeeze. We also had a problem getting the doors unlocked between our adjoining rooms, it took a long time and multiple phone calls, and then when security finally arrived he was asking to see my passport to unlock the door to my children's room even though the hotel made a copy of my passport at check in. We also had a delay in being able to order breakfast from room service, but once I placed the order, the food arrived promptly and earlier than I anticipated. The king bed matress was top quality but the sofa bed mattress was hard as a rock. The view from the balcony was beautiful, and the pool area as well as beach and Dead Sea access was superb. The dinner buffet was pricey but the food was outstanding. Overall despite the issues I would recommend this hotel.
