Great location but small room

This hotel was in the perfect location. Tons of restaurants right next to the hotel. Walking distance from wine tasting rooms & the beach. Parking is right across the street. The elevator was being worked on, which the notified us several times and well in advance, so there was some “construction” happening (paper/plastic on the floors, used the stairs).

My room was lovely, small but well appointed. Very quiet even though State Street was full of crowds. The lobby is very nice, but it was covid time so very little in use. Perfect location.

The only thing good about this hotel is the location. It is outdated, the rooms are small, the staff is not friendly and, it is not up to par with the rest of the area. Would not recommend.

The Hotel Santa Barbara is super cute cozy 1920s era hotel. Beds are comfortable and clean. Step out the front doors to State street where shops, bars and restaurants are just seconds away. Starbucks is literally on the corner.

Great location, very nice staff. I really liked the music in the lobby. It reminded us of Don Draper’s trips to Cali from Mad Men.

AVOID AT ALL COST! Horrible experience in this hotel. Reserved a queen's bed room for two guests which was unbelievably small even for one person with a bed which was more like a full size bed rather than a queen. I asked for a bigger room and I was told it will be the same price however an extra 20$ charge was added later for the larger room. The parking is not free (15$ per car per night) and its across the street and there is no assigned spot or system of parking. Its first come, first serve even if you paid already for a spot you might have to look for an empty spot. Everything is historic, including the elevator (basically not usable unless you are willing to wait 15 minutes each time) and room equipment such as the iron (left a stain on my shirt). Pillows are horrible. Out of 5 lamps in the room only 2 were working.

I love that the hotel is conveniently located in downtown and is walking distance to everything. For that reason I would consider staying here in the future. The hotel itself was nice and comfortable. A bit older but you couldn’t tell except for the small and slow elevator which gave the hotel character and was the last bit left from the original. The issue is the parking. Very limited parking and they charge you $15 a day. We had taken a trip down to Camarillo outlets and when we got back the parking lot was full that we had to park our car on the street. I kept calling the hotel and I couldn’t get through, I was on the phone for 10 min trying and nothing. That would be my only issue is if a hotel is charging me for parking, I’d like to make sure there is ample parking spaces for me to park.
