Carlisle shot break
A short break with a friend for two nights. The hotel is central to all amenities in Carlisle, which is a lovely place. Staff and facilities were excellent, breakfast was amazing and I would certainly stay there again. Fantastic price for a quality hotel.

8/10 Very good

Characterful inexpensive comfortable.
This classic hotel is so centrally located for the city centre and rail station. The hotel has been refreshed since my last stay. The single room was warm and had all the essentials including tea and coffee making facility. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, with hot and cold options. Staff were helpful. It is priced competitively and for a short stay is ideal. The only downside was there was a fairly loud aircon noise outside until around midnight.

4/10 Fair

Stay was poor overall despite some good aspects.
On arrival the receptionist was not welcoming or particularly helpful. However once her shift ended and another person was on duty, he was helpful and pleasant. My room was not cleaned after my first night there. The shower was luke warm the first morning and cold the second. The breakfasts were good and the one evening meal was freshly cooked and tasty. Staff in the restaurant were friendly.

6/10 Good

overall room size was ok but floor every creaky/noisy, stayed for 3 nights but room wasn't cleaned after second night. Also felt that curtains could have been better fit for window. I also informed staff on arrival that I was waiting on an important letter, next day special delivery and when it came the staff behind desk said they couldn't find me on the system? And sent letter back with postman. Overall staff not very helpful.
