No Longer Has Advertised Amenities. Owner Change.
The hotel website, traveler's brochure and stated bar and restaurant on premisis. Both have closed down over two years ago during a change of ownership. Sliding door lock to patio was rusted shut so we were not able to enjoy ocean view while relaxing on patio. Bed in room 202 was hard as a rock and poor quality (edge uncomfortably dug into back of knees while sitting to put shoes on).

Uncomfortable beds
It was good for an overnight, but hotel was low on ammenities. It was situated in large grounds and you could see the ocean from the room's window, but there was nothing else there but two ballrooms to draw you to stay. No pool area, no restaurant. Plenty of room for these things but you were directed further in to town to use the restaurant/bar at their sister hotel. It was extremely quiet though. Room was vintage style decoration which made it quaint, but the bed was as hard as rocks. Didn't sleep much as bed was that uncomfortable. Overall we had a nice overnight stay and enjoyed the area.

Quaint Inn - basic and clean.
An older Victorian style Inn - it served the purpose of a clean, neat place to sleep on the trip. Some pluses - were neatness, wifi and location ( quiet). The only negative I would mention was that there was no functioning kitchen or dining room at the Inn. There was tea available in the lobby if needed. They did however give you a 15% discount to the restaurant at their sister hotel - Mendocino Hotel - for one meal. If you plan your entire day(s) from breakfast to dinner out at the town or elsewhere and just get back to sleep you should be fine.

The Hill House Inn
The beds were extremely uncomfortable, very hard and lumpy. The restaurant and the lounge were closed for repairs, which their website fails to mention.
