Very Good8.0
Almost like being in Downton Abbey
Beautiful place to stay, a bit like staying at Downton Abby. Incredible grounds, very impressive. I stayed here before and will return next year. One thing to know is that this hotel is about a ten minute taxi ride to Winchester which is incredible, and it cost about £10.00 ($14.00) each way. In saying that, taxis are readily available and one doesn’t have to wait long. Food is very good at the hotel, but a bit pricey. In saying this it’s such a magical place, I’m personally willing to endure these minor issues. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. One more thing, if you stay on the second floor near the straircase you will hear the sound of wood creaking, but after all the building is over 200 years old. Besides I was too jet lagged to care.

A bygone era
Lainston House is simply magical! Very elegant, but not too stuffy. From the beautiful grounds to the historic old English Manor. Its like being at Downton Abby. The food, and drinks are good, but pricey. Still it's the type of establishment that can demand high prices. The room vas fabulous and extremely comfortable beds. On top of all of that, fantastic staff. I can't wait to return!!!

Great weekend away
Lovely house and great service. Prices a bit steep in the restaurant and bar. Didn't try the tasting menu but had bar food, which was all excellent. Nice grounds too.
