La Siesta Retro
42 years ago we spent our honeymoon here. Not much has changed except better water pressure and a.c. Like the friendly service good food. Close to the central plaza and market. Good eats and shopping, too. Also, close to those crazy cliff divers, just a short walk down the Malecon.

Great stay on a budget.
Great stay great Hotel. The only thing is they did not have a mini fridge. A great and economical stay if you want to be downtown or "El central". A great place to stay for weekdays and soakin the city, then you could move to the "golden zone" for the weekends and party. This strategy will save you a lot of cash.

Budget hotel with great views.
This is a completely no-frills hotel in a spectacular location. The staff could not have been nicer, but the owners really need to put a little thought and money into renovating this hotel. The bathroom is barely passable, and there are no wash cloths or hand towells. The beds were not the worst we have slept on in Mexico, but far from great. The restaurant downstairs (The Shrimp Bucket) is not great, and has karaoke playing VERY loudly on some nights. The hotel has definitely seen better days, but the views and the proximity to the ocean are superb. If we had not upgraded to an ocean view room it would have been VERY disappointing.
