Flattering to deceive....
The executive room allocated next to the elevator core was poor: sofa and carpet were stained and there was a lingering smell of 'old socks', lack of storage facilities (only 3 drawers; 2 of which contained hotel materials!). I requested and was given another room which was better in terms of view, air quality and condition of the furniture. The lack of storage facilities was mildly annoying - I had to keep using my suitcase as an alternative drawer/store for my clothes. The club lounge breakfast was a huge disappointment: minimum selection of hot dishes (which were cooling rapidly during my initial visit), what seemed like powdered orange juice drink, poor selection and quality of breakfast cereals, salads that seemed tired and soggy (at 8.00am for goodness sake) and watery coffee from a vending machine. The lounge 'wallpaper music' intended to sooth the morning away merely contributed to an irritation with the whole experience. The 4 days visit was also punctuated by problems with regard to accessing the elevators and my room thanks to a digital keycard system that malfunctioned on three occasions. The elevator experience was frustrating: one of them was out of commission and staff were freely using the guests elevators for conveying equipment and room deliveries. Again the keycard worked indifferently and I found myself back at lobby level instead of level 34 on more than one occasion.

Not so good
My flight arrive around 4:30 am on the day of my booking so I arrived at the hotel around 5:30. Although my room was ready, I was told I would have to pay for an extra day to get the key early or wait until 7am and pay an early checkin fee. I could understand if the room was not ready but making a customer pay extra or wait unnecessarily just speaks to their priorities. Then, I was given the signature chocolate chip cookie which was hot and rock hard as if they just microwaved a cookie that was baked 2 days ago. It would have been better used during the hot stone massage than for eating. Once allowed in the room, I immediately smelled the soap scum in the bathroom which led me to investigate further. The underside of the toilet seat was filthy. There was mold around the fixtures. There was hair on the desk and hand prints all over the glass. The dust balls under the bed looked like tumbleweeds from a wild west movie. Hotel staff offered a room change but I could not imagine another room would be better and I asked them to clean this room properly. Housekeeping staff made an attempt to address the issues but the dirt had built up for too long and it was clear he may not have had the knowledge or ability bring the room to an acceptable standard. Upon checkout, I was still asked to pay the early check in fee. I thought that was a slap in the face since I spent most of that time dealing with the cleanliness issue and showing the staff where to clean in the room.

very bad service by the lady at check-out counter
the staff at the check-out counter is very rude. after she served a white lady, it was my turn, so i walked up to the counter but she asked me to get in line, but there isn't anyone waiting for check-out. she was unfriendly and she just walked away. after a while she asked me to come over to the check-in counter. i was confused thinking she thought i wanted to check-in, so i told her again i am checking out, and she got impatient saying 'yes, i know, you can go to any available counter!!!'. the staff at the check-in counter apologized to me, but she should be the one apologizing. after i was done with check-out, i saw her serving a white man. is she only serving whites? i feel unfairly treated at a reputable hotel. if she is impatient, she can ask me to drop my card at the express check out, why must she ask me go to another counter so she can serve someone who is white? here is a picture attached i took of her. she doesn't deserve to be working in the front line.i am very disappointed. even when i was in my room and wanted to call the reception, none of my calls were answered in the morning.

Nice hotel, but lacks attention to details
I thought the room was quite spacious and clean, until i had to use the table. There was a glass above the table, and there were cookie crumbs stuck in between the glass and the table. I noticed it on the first night upon check-in, but was too tired to report it thinking that the staff might clean it the next day. To my disappointment, they did not, and the crumbs stuck between the table and the glass bothered me. After I submitted a feedback online, I received a call about 10 minutes later from room service asking if there were any issues with the room. I mentioned that the room is dirty, but it would be inconvenient for them to send someone to clean it now as I had my work spread out on the table. About 10 mins later, I received another phone call from room service asking about the issue, and requesting to send someone to check on the room. I repeated again that it would be inconvenient to send someone. I finally called back after I was done with work, and they sent someone to check the room, and the staff was surprised to see that there were crumbs stuck there. She was unable to lift up the glass on the table, so she had to call someone else to help her. All in all, they were in my room for at least 15mins trying to sort out the crumbs. Disappointing to find that no attention was paid to such details.

Well Located Property
Check in was seamless and staff where of a high standard and very helpful. Foods and beverage operations where also of a high standard and seamed well patronised. There are 2 points that could be improved and make the expereince better. - I am a frequent business traveller spending over 200 nights a year in Hotels 1) The Hotels reception is on the second floor, while that is no problem at all, the Hotels WIFI stops working when you are at the 'Hotels Front Door' which is also the Front Door to the rest of the building. The main problem I found was while I was frequently waiting a the 'Front Door' for my transport to arrive (Uber and Private Drivers) I was not able to communicate withthe drivers arriving - No Wifi - its a small point but important one as more and more customers would be relaying on Transportation apps. 2) The Air-conditioning system in the room was too strong in wind speed even on the LOW setting- I found myself getting up in the middle of the night and turning it off - only to wake a few hours later to turn it back on again LOL BUT Dont let these 2 points stop you from staying in the Hotel, its excellant value for money and the Executive Level Club is an option well worth taking.
