The Fairmount Hotel, San Antonio
Our stay was short (1 night) We were not in hotel room much. The restaraunt down stairs was excellent. Perfect location. Rooms were Filled with antiques.

No elevator, bad service
We were excited to stay at a Fairmont. While our actual room was nice, we were put on the 3rd floor, next to a remodeled room that anyone could walk into. On top of that, the elevator was not in service, and with a family of 4, we quite a bit of luggage with NOT ONE offer to help us carry it to our room. As if that weren't enough, our room was freezing cold that night. There was an unusual cold front in April, so a heater would have been nice. When we called downstairs to ask about our locked thermostat, someone told us that a technician would have to come and remove a wall panel to see if they could troubleshoot and switch the HVAC to heating. This was late at night and we were exhausted, so we wrapped our kids in multiple blankets they brought so they could sleep comfortably. Needless to say, we could not check out of there fast enough. Certainly not what we expected from a Fairmount property.

Seen better days
Booked this hotel at last minute for a 1 night stay as it was one of the few hotels with availability. There was a lot of construction going on in the hotel and it was quite noisy from around 8am onwards. Also meant that the elevator was out of action. Not the best for a work trip as the rooms are not well equipped to do work. No breakfast available in the hotel. Rooms are characterful, but a bit tired. The staff were friendly enough, but they were also few and far between! Don't think I'll be rushing to come back.

Nice smaller boutique type hotel. Location to convention center was excellent. Room and furnishings were more than expected! Certainly a different experience as compared to traditional type hotels. Very enjoyable experience.

Dont expect a mainstream hotel.
HVAC system could use a little work, but this is a historic hotel thats been moved several blocks over its history. Some leniency should be applied. Overall it is a fantastic experience and a great story behind the history of the hotel. Would have been nice to have been warned about the $40 parking fee per night, though...that was kind of ridiculous.
