Beautiful Re-Done Pool and
Great experience. It was the first weekend the pool was re-opened. We have visited Hotel Galvez many times over the years, and we are pleased to see the hotel being restored to its former glory. The first time we ever visited, it was shortly after a hurricane and the hotel didn't have central air. Hotel Galvez is a massively historic and beautiful hotel with Gothic old world charm. We went in on the first Friday of Spring Break 2023, which is probably one of the craziest times to go. We had a severely delayed check-in, but the hotel provided free late check out and complementary brunch to make it up to us. We were pleased with the compensation because we were only there for a one-day quick turn-around weekend trip from Houston. We were sad to have had to miss out on beach time because of our delayed check-in time. But other than that, everything with the hotel was perfect and A+. The wait staff were attentive and very friendly. The Spa was nice, and the Brunch is unforgettable. The rooms are perfect with great amenities, and I loved the mirrors in the bathroom as well as the roomy shower. The fridge is tiny, but it permitted us to chill our wine and water, so it was a win in my book. I will come again!

Grand old hotel with delux facelift
Remodeled hotel is truly beautiful. Our room with view of Gulf was spacious, the bathroom was completely redone in stylish modern appointments. Front desk always has good tips on where to eat and what to do. And Galveston in general is improved every year.

From the moment we drove up we were treated like royalty. The valet service was excellent. The check in & check out process was quick & easy. OZ at the check in area was amazing. Robert who took our luggage up to our room and then also took them back to our vehicle was so kind & professional. Melissa in the gift shop was friendly & professional. Everyone that we encountered was 5 star all the way!!! We will definitely be back!!!

As it states on website they are in the middle of renovation. The rooms on their website are not the newly renovated rooms. The first room they put is in was not only dirty but very small with no seating except for a wooden desk chair. The hotels website shows a soft chair, which is something we always want in a room. After complaining they graciously moved us to a gulf front room which was a little bit bigger and had a padded wooded bench for seating. The bed was comfortable, tv worked well and bathroom amenities were nice. We had a cocktail at the bar downstairs and ate at the restaurant on site. Both were lovely.
