Does NOT Care About its Disabled Guests
The Westin Galleria does NOT care about its disabled guests!! I can not express how disappointed we are in The Westin Galleria Hotel, I have stayed in 15 Westin Hotels over the years (I just counted) and this one is last on the list! My girlfriend is disabled and confound to a wheel chair and I myself have a hearing disability, she loves being in a pool and the only ones she can get in are usually at hotels because they all have the lift. The weather last weekend was unseasonable warm and we decided to hit a hotel and have a nice weekend together. We chose The Westin Galleria because we have stayed in its sister property The Westin Oaks which is also within the mall. We chose this one, even tho it was 10% more expensive, just to mix it up and bit and that its actually closer to Nordstroms and Macys in the mall where she wanted to take in some early Christmas shopping. This should have been a great stay. I had even called the day before and specifically asked if the pool was heated..I was told "yes it was". We packed up including all our pool stuff and went over to the hotel. We wanted to self park and not pay the absorbent overnight/valet fee they charged. Heres where it all began, the self parking is horrible even if someone wasnt disabled, totally unlike the other Westin in the mall. That was ok, we dealt with that, no huge deal, just wanted to let people know the parking sucks. We got our room and as she got dressed for an afternoon at the pool I went down to make sure

A huge closed door fell on me and still in pain.
On entering my room allocated to me, as soon as I tried to open the closet door, the huge door fell on my left shoulder and then flat on the ground . I’m still feeling pains. I tried to talk to a manager the day I checked out to get a report, receptionist told me to wait for a manager. I got frustrated after waiting about 5 minutes and no one came out. I had to leave to be able to make it to drop rental car on time and make my flight

Nice hotel, great location, wonderful staff!
This hotel was very nice and is located attached to the galleria mall which was convenient. They have free parking in the ramp or valet available. I only have good thing to say! There was construction going on in the hotel so areas were blocked off but I didn’t notice any noise or anything bothersome due to it. Our coffee maker was missing the basket so we couldn’t make coffee the first morning (not the end of the world with Starbucks 100ft away in the mall). We asked for them to bring a basket and at the end of our day when we returned to the room we had a whole new coffee maker as well as cookies, wine, and a card. The staff were all very nice and personable! I was beyond impressed as it really was not the biggest inconvenience a hotel has ever caused us but it was the nicest response! We will stay at a Westin again because of this wonderful experience and if we return to Houston in the future we will be staying here!

    Very Good 8.0
Convenient for shopping & Galleria area
Had to book last minute as a work appointment in the area came up... Upon arriving, I initially tried to self park, but the mall was crowded with holiday shoppers, so I ended up using valet. Check in was easy, and my room was pleasant. Not the best view, but it was comfortable and roomy since it was a handicap room. But that also meant I didn't get a bathrobe like I thought I would from my initial reservation amenities. The hotel is attached to the Galleria Mall, so that was convenient. The hotel is also going through some remodeling, so that might be taken into consideration over the next couple of months. I didn't notice much work except I could hear some work going on in the room above me the Monday morning that I checked out, and there was minor work going on in the lobby.

Great location, Fun place to stay
We stayed at the Westin Galleria for my daughter's dance convention. It was so convenient to be in the host hotel, and to not have to leave for meals or last minute things we forgot, (like eyeliner) since we were in the mall. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and the staff was sweet. The only problem we faced is the parking garage. I valet parked, but had to move my car when we checked out. The garage has VERY low ceilings. I drive a suburban. We cleared the bar that measures for clearance fine. But while trying to park my luggage rack got caught on a pipe on the ceiling and ripped off. The cost of my trip increased significantly due to the repairs. Be careful if you drive a large car into the parking garage.
