Spacious room, very comfortable beds and very clean. Couldn't get wifi in the room (despite checking password wit reception) but quick wifi available in the reception area. Would re-visit.

APPALLING SERVICE
Absolutely appalling service from staff. Arrived 15 mins early to check in, the staff member at the desk who said her name was Shereen was very rude, I tried to show her my booking confirmation and she pushed my phone aside and rudely said 'what's your name'. she looked at a list and said to me a room isn't ready yet. I asked her to check for me and she replied no. the room was paid for and she then wanted another £100 from me. I asked why and she never gave me a reason. I asked to speak to a manager and once again said 'no, I'm in charge'. A manager was not available. I waited on the side and a man appeared and called himself subbu- he said was from management although he did not specify in what capacity. I attempted to explain what happened, then asked what the extra £100 was for, he stated it was policy. I explained to him my luggage was at the airport and only had enough for food, £75 in total just in case, my wallet was with my bags. They refused to help me. I left the hotel, ended up staying at a different hotel. I called up Hotel.com customer service to get a refund. The representative was very polite and stated he would have to call the hotel to authorise a refund, he placed me on hold, a short while later he confirmed the behaviour of the staff- they were also rude to him and refused to resolve the issue. I am now waiting for a call back to see if anything will be done.

Current pictures do not do this hotel justice, pictures of the rooms need updating as the room itself was far better and much more modern than I expected. To look at from the outside the hotel and surrounding accommodation blocks look pretty grim, it is on the hagley road after all. Think bare basics, but it certainly serves as a convenient option. Located around a 10-15 minutes walk to the clubs/bars on broad street or a couple of minutes in a taxi. Went to see a gig at the barclaycard arena and the apollo was spot on for providing cheap, clean and comfortable accommodation for the evening. Twin room ground floor in block B, I even managed to park my car right outside my rooms door. Ample free parking, free wifi code provided on arrival. Tea and coffee making facilities - basic but present. Basic toiletries provided as well as iron, ironing board and hair dryer in the room. Wall mounted flat screen tv. I paid £50.89 through the hotel.com app on the day, the hotel wasn't busy at all however hotels.com made it look like it would sell out any second with there clever pressurised website. If it's not the weekend or bank holidays book on the day through the app, it's a big hotel and they are bound to have rooms, might save a few quid as a twin on arrival at reception was £130... bit of a difference. Would recommend and would stay again after a night on the town, worked out cheaper than a taxi home.
