Great access in Kyoto
The room was a bit tight and the bathroom somewhat small, but overall this is a really nice and convenient place to stay in Kyoto. It is really a short walk virtually across the street from the Shinkansen side of Kyoto Station and has many, many dinning options within just a few minutes walk. In addition to the amazing variety of shopping options in Kyoto Station (the basement area is really great), there is an Aeon Mall right next to the hotel with a large supermarket and lots of different retail shops and restaurants (we had a great dinner at a "kaiten zushi" place on the 4th floor with a wide variety of sushi). The hotel is very large, so expect a lot of people, but we never had a problem getting an elevator or getting around. To provide some context, this was my 40+ visit to Japan from the US and when visiting Kyoto, I will stay here again.
