Fair 4.0
Good location but...
The location cannot be beat. The hotel is directly across the street from Ikebukuro Station, there are tons of shopping and great places to eat within walking distance however I was extremely disappointed with my “superior” room. I know that Tokyo hotel rooms can be quite small so I purposely booked the “superior” king room for my husband and I. My sister booked a standard king for herself and her room was almost twice the size of my room, the bathroom was larger and even had counter space and she had a view of Mt. Fuji and I paid more for my room??? I probably will find a different hotel to stay at on my next trip to Tokyo.

Fair 4.0
The location can’t be beat however I was truly disappointed with my “superior” room. My sister and her boyfriend booked a regular king room and I booked the “superior” king and her room was almost twice the size of mine, had a larger bathroom, had a view of Mt. Fuji, was in a higher floor and I paid more for my room??? My room was so small my husband and I could barely fit our 2 suitcases in the room. I know that hotel rooms in Tokyo can run small, this was the reason I booked the “superior” room. It was quite upsetting to see the differences between our 2 rooms. Other than that Ikebukuro Station is directly across the street, the Airport Express Train (NEX) goes to Ikebukuro, there are tons of places to eat, department stores and all the best Japanese food chains have restaurants in Ikebukuro. I found a nice cat cafe to hang out in on New Years Day. Hotel would have been great if I had a room equivalent to my sisters. I will probably find a different hotel on my next trip to Tokyo.

Exceptional 10.0
Nice hotel to travel to Tokyo
Very convenient location for travel (the railway station is in front of the hotel) and For shopping. Also there are so many restaurants around this hotel.

Exceptional 10.0
Great central Tokyo hotel
The hotel is beautiful and very clean. The staff is very friendly and professional. The metro station is 100 yards away and dozens of restaurants and bars are located nearby. This area is centrally located but not in the heart of the city where the large crowds are located.

Exceptional 10.0
On the way back from a Singaporean wedding.
This is the second time we stayed at the Metropolitan ikebukuro. We find the hotel rooms clean and is serviced daily. The hotel staff is friendly and always willing to assist to our questions for directions to areas near and far from the hotel. We especially found Mr. Saito to be very friendly and helpful. Most of the staff spoke English so language was not a barrier. He educated us on the subway and rail system and suggested that we buy a rail pass. He even mentioned the clockwise and counterclockwise of the rail platform and how it works. He also gave us a tip on refund at the end of our trip. We again enjoyed our stay at the hotel and plan on making a third trip sometime in the future.
