Good location but older hotel
Hotel is in a good location due to closeness to Temple Bar area. Check in was a bit chaotic. Rooms are small, old, and no A/C. But that is expected in Europe.

At first given a room that someone had been smoking in. Asked are another room as my wife is allergic to smoke. Given room 230. We were in Europe for 6 weeks. This is by far the best room we stayed in. I want to thank the Manager for making our stay in Galway one of the best destinations on our trip!

Galway vacation at Imperial Hotel
Comfortable beds. Clean hotel. Looks small from outside but quite big on the inside. Very good location. Very close and walkable to train and bus stations, harbor, historic area and plenty of food joints and shopping. No need for a vehicle to get about town.

This hotel was in a great location with very friendly staff. Our room was a little older but spacious with newer bathroom and comfortable bed. We had breakfast downstairs one morning and food was good. We had a nice 2 night stay.

Hmmm…if you’re looking for a hotel that is purely for convenience, this hotel is great for that. It’s centrally located in Galway so ideal if you want to be in the heart of the city. Otherwise this hotel was probably one of the worse I’ve ever been to in terms of cleanliness. Once I walked into my room I was hit with a instant smell of what smelt like burnt bolognese, cheese and smoke - it was disgusting. Thankfully over time I got nose blind to it haha rooms didn’t have enough towels, bathroom sink was clogging - not a good first impression. Hotel also has a very dated look - almost motel vibes. I was super disappointed given the reviews I saw and high rating. Would not be going back here!

The rating is kind of low due to the conditions of the hotel. When you flush the toilet, it smells like sewage. The decor, carpet, etc is very dated and dingy. But the location is A . Couldn’t ask for much better. If the hotel was renovated, it would be significantly better.
