Once you learn the tricks, very enjoyable!
Impeccable setting, blending traditional with modern. Restaurant service was hit-and-miss, with team-forgetting of our dessert, yet friendly. Room had no vents or exhaust, so 'everything' stays inside - front desk offered a fan. Things got better when we found that the door to the porch 'tilted', which solved our ventilation concerns. There are no electrical receptacles on the side of the bed - front desk offered and extension cord for my C-PAP machine. Overall, a good experience (now that we know the tricks). We would definitely stay again.

Cork stay
I was hoping it would have been more romantic than what we got. Everybody at the hotel did their best with the requests. if you are thinking of staying here we suggest first if you find out if any big events will be going on, as the groups like to hang out on the lawn that many rooms overlook. So much for privacy or peace and quiet. The room itself needed updating. I was ready to pay more for upgrading but was told nothing was available after complaining being right next to the elevator, with a lot of activity. The second night at 11pm we had to complain to the front desk about the noise on the lawn. They shut it down at exactly the time we complained, my guess is other guests were complaining as well. The breakfast was just ok. Again, all staff members were very nice. But would not recommend the hotel.

The hotel has a nice location and the grounds are well maintained and beautiful. The structure of the hotel is also nice and the staff are extremely pleasant and very helpful. The hotel's needs renovation and overall maintenance has need deferred. If you're looking for a quiet and comfortable stay be sure to ask if there's a wedding there, it is very crowded and loud during these events (which is often). Parking is very difficult and enjoying the gardens are impossible.

Won't be staying again
It was fine but the room was a little grubby, the bar lacked atmosphere, no heating controls in the room, no mini bar, no food after 10 not even room service. the bathroom had dirty grouting, the room had scuff marks on the walls, the carpet was stained. While none of this was excessive I felt that this hotel should have done better based on it's reputation and price.
