Would not recommend
There is no elevator and 2 flights of stairs just to reach the reception. The hotel does not meet my standards for cleanliness. When we needed a taxi we were told to get one up the street.

Good value accommodation.
The room was very tiny but it had everything we needed. Great location. Shlomo at the front desk was awesome. He was very kind and helped plan our travel thru Jerusalem. Breakfast was very good.

Book elsewhere + This one needs a Lift
This location needs a lift -it's three sets of stairs just to the reception desk. The photos shown in their listings are not the representation of their rooms, only a few on the middle floor which were renovated appear like the photos used. Bathrooms are difficult, showers leak, mildew & pealing paint. Bed linens are comfortable. Cleaned just very run down, stained carpets & walls. Nice proprietor. New night shift staff rude, preoccupied all the time, takes forever to buzz people in at hotel entrance. Also, they used to have a coffee/tea/hot milk dispenser for guests in the dining room all day - their redeeming feature, but they started just unplugging it & telling people it's out of order (but then use it for their morning breakfast & tell people the same thing each day.) Air conditioning in individual rooms (not in public areas) was good. WiFi was good. TVs each room I've had needed fixing, did get fixed but each time at least one day was shot. Decent location for getting around, but dingier section (not owners fault of course.) 3 balconies for customers use on 3rd floor outside the Reception Desk & Dining Room. Dining Room used to be nice to relax in, read a newspaper, have a meal from an area shop when they had the coffee-tea-hot water-hot milk machine. Oh and the heavy construction out back is boomingly loud by 5-6am each day excepting Shabbat.

A great find
The location is situated perfectly to get to know Jerusalem. This is not a luxury hotel, but is comfortable and quaint, perfect for my tastes. Breakfast is plentiful, delicious, and local. Shlomo at the desk was a great advisor for trip particulars. The only thing I did not like was the character of the area after sundown.
