First trip to St. Maarten, awful hotels.com suppor
Firstly the name was confusing. The property is known as Saphire not Caribbean vacation rental. I called hotels.com representative for guidance. Checking in was prolonged since the reception wasn’t informed about my booking and then after she received the email and could check me in. At the time of booking both lagoon side and ocean side were the same price so I asked to change my room to ocean side. The hotel manager asked $150 more for this and I had to pay. That is totally nonsense so I asked hotels.com customer service to contact the hotel and avoid extra fees for me but he didn’t help me at all. I’m so disappointed, wouldn’t recommend hotels.com any more and will not chose that hotel in the future. House keeper was ok however we had to ask for soap and shampoo each time. My key card was repeatedly not working adding to my frustrations.
