I loved that this hotel is in the park. Our room had a view of the falls which we really enjoyed. My husband is still telling people about the views from our room and the hotel common areas.

Expensive! consider staying in Puerta Iguazu!
This hotel is very convenient due to its location IN the Iguazu National Park. You literally walk out the door and are on the trails of the park. It was very expensive for me to stay here and I was extremely disappointed to arrive and find out that the park had been CLOSED for the last 36 hours and was closed the entire day I arrived, due to a decision of the park officials. Since I could have cancelled my stay at the Sheraton within 24 hours, I feel the hotel should have notified me by email that the park was closed, which would have given me the opportunity to book at a cheaper hotel, and wait for the park to open. I think this was very inconsiderate and likely because they didn't want to lose the business. Fortunately, the day I checked out, a portion of the park opened for a few hours. Many people were stuck inside the hotel during the closure, and I think the hotel could have offered some free drinks or a dinner voucher or something to ease the disappointment since we could not even use the outdoor pool, tennis courts or anything; just stuck in the hotel to wait out the closure.

Scenic location with comfortable rooms and numerous public areas that leant elegance to a rural setting. Staff was helpful, location perfect for visits to falls with clearly marked trails and lush landscaping.

Lovely hotel in the national park
We spent three nights in another hotel in Puerto Iguazu, then decided it would also be fun to stay in the national park. This is a great hotel, very comfortable, with good amenities. Easy walk to the trails, though if you do all of the trails that's quite a hike in the tropical heat! We enjoyed the train and hike to La Garganta del Diablo - absolutely the most dramatic view of the waterfalls! Dinner in the ining room/restaurant is a bit pricey, but the lobby bar and lounge has more reasonable options. Also more reasonable sized options - I never could finish a meal in the dining room/restaurant, the meals are huge! Also, if you are a Starwood member, be sure to use your benefits - late check out, free wifi, etc. When we booked, only the waterfall view rooms were available. A little more pricey, but what a view!

Best location and views
This is the hotel to stay at if you want the best access to the park. The location can't be beat and the service was quite good. However, the property was worn - especially the hallways and rooms. The a/c didn't work properly and there were a number of small issues with the room. It would be incredible if they addressed these issues. Also, beware that the food is just ok and very expensive for what it was. But, breakfast was good.
