Dark, needs updating, and health concerns
I was not impressed with this hotels for many reasons. It was a reasonable deal, at $60 that we paid for the room. However, it is VERY much beyond needing updating. The décor is very dark and dingy, and I'm quite sure the sink in our bathroom was installed in the 1970's. None of those were my biggest concern though. We had MOLD in the bathroom. The sheetrock on the wall next to the shower had clearly gotten wet many times, it was soggy, swollen and painted over. There was mold on the bottom of the wall that was visable, so I am sure there was other spots underneath the paint. If we had been in that room for more than 12 hours, I would've requested a room change, but we just wanted to sleep and get back on the road. The front desk staff was pleasant but in the morning seemed very blasé about the mold. Their response was that they were working on some updating, but hadn't gotten to the third floor. Ummm.... its mold-ish!
