Has Met My Needs Every Time
I have stayed at this hotel several times now and have always found it adequate for my needs and well priced for the room provided. It is not perfect and shows signs of wear and tear, but if you want a good comfortable place for a night or two you cannot go wrong. Further it is at the crossroads of the Lodge and 696 Freeways and Telegraph Road with easy access to downtown, and points north, east or west.

Rather stay at the Overlook Hotel
I'll start with the wifi. The quality Inn's free wifi is 3 mb/s to put it in perspective my phone's hotspot is 15 mb/s. In 2018 3mbps can't do much of anything, so if your saying here be prepared to not be able to even answer emails. On my second night, after I got in from my work day, I asked the front desk if there was any paid wifi that might be faster. I was then informed that not only is that not a thing but that the TV, and Wifi was just out. When I asked if she had any idea when it be back she just looked at me blankly. With no TV or Wifi I'd rather stay in room 237 at the Overlook hotel then the Quality Inn in Southfield Michigan. I asked if there was any local places to grab a good bite to eat and this was the exchange... "So, is there any good places to get some food around the hotel. Either walking distance or a 5 minute drive" - Me "Uhhh, there is Kerby's." - Her "Kerby's whats that? - Me "Kerby's Coney Island?" - Her "Which is a sit down place, a bar?" - Me "It's a restaurant" - Her "... which serves?" - Me "Dinner" - Her "...." - Me "burgers and I dunno salads probably" - Her " and where is it?" - Me "Just outside" - Her Like I really didn't expect much, but if someone asked me that question about my own work I don't think I would give so little in response, let alone when you work at hotel! Overall I would recommend paying 25 more dollars a night to stay at a place that won't make you want to blow your brains out.
