Okay but wouldn't have paid full price for it.
Spacious room with a mahoosive bed which was very comfy. Lousy view over the roof and ducting, but I guess that's pot luck with your allocation. The room was a bit 'tired' and could do with a bit of TLC.....Wobbly toilet seat, noisy bathroom and air con fans....nothing you wouldn't expect from a hotel of that age but at the prices they charge it's probably time to splash some cash on a refurb. Fortunately we were there on a Tesco deal so didn't (and probably wouldn't have) paid top whack

Overnight stay
Room was a little tired. A drawer was missing from my bedside table, the net curtain torn and the main curtain torn. The fan didn’t work in the bathroom and the sink plug let water out so we couldn’t put water in the sink. The bathroom light was too dim for my husband to see to shave. The toilet roll holder was difficult to reach. The floorboards creaked. The bed was comfortable. The corridors were light and spacious. All staff were pleasant and polite. Dinner and breakfast in the restaurant were very good.

Waitress needs training & website needs updating
Hotel is convenient for travelling, I was on way from Scotland to meetings in North Yorkshire, and this was an easy hotel to get to. I was in an executive room, which was more spacious than previous rooms I've had here (third trip in last month). Bed was good but TV not so much, and a poor selection of channels available (with no sleep timer on the TV, which I like when staying in hotels) - this needs attention. One thing to highlight was that the restaurant was closed on the night I was staying (a Sunday), despite the website saying it was open and no mention of this at the hotel reception. So, I settled in the bar for a meal, and ordered lamb kofta starter and chicken jalfrezi main. The waitress when repeating my order said "lamb coffee and chicken i-cant-pronounce-that" - not reassuring that a server can't say what is on the menu!! Moreover, she obviously didn't make it clear to the chef that this was a table for 1 and these were a starter and a main, as she brought both dishes at the same time!! When I reported to the reception the next morning that I wasn't that pleased with the restaurant not being open, she simply said "oh it closes on Sundays". Well, why does Google say that Fratellos is open from 12-9.45pm on Sundays?? "Oh, I'll have to check that". Didn't feel that I could then go on to relay my disappointment with the bar meal service. If you're happy with a quick visit and convenient location then this hotel suits, but don't expect too much.
