Some many positives and negatives!
I have so much great and just as much negative. The positives: location, view, parking (cheaper parking right across the street, don't use $26/day valet), the 19th floor with complimentary breakfast, snacks, soda and water, hospitality, and the heated pool and workout room was fantastic. The negatives: a HUGE urine stain on the pull out mattress, the entire floor reeking of marijuana (both of which were resolved when we changed our rooms to a different floor) & definitely the worst was that I got food poisoning from the breakfast buffet, from what I'm assuming was the fresh fruit (the only thing I ate that day and the only thing I ate that my family didn't). It completely ruined my last day in Memphis, I couldn't even leave the room let alone the bathroom and it made our departure (10 hr long car ride home) late and awful as well. The front desk staff was notified. Overall, I enjoyed my stay just the negatives were so awful I'm unsure if I would stay again at this hotel.

Urine, rotten towels and glass.
My wife and I along with are two young children were traveling from Wisconsin to Texas to visit an ill relative - a difficult trip to say the least. Upon arriving at the Sheraton in downtown Memphis after 9 hours of driving we were greeted with the following. - Valet was %26 – street parking was free. I commented that I would use street parking and was told by the valet that if I made that choice the Christmas gifts in the back of my car wouldn’t be there in the morning. - Room 1: Urine on the toilet seat, vanity and in the Kleenex box. Discovered when I reached for a tissue to wipe my 2 year old daughters face. Tissues were soaked in urine. - Room 2: Un-serviced in months. Pile of rotten mildew towels on the floor – all the lights were on. Room had a very strong odor of rotten food. Beds were stripped and stained – one of the beds had a large piece of glass on it. Toilet looked to have been overflowed recently. We left the hotel after asking for a refund. Nobody from the staff offered to view the rooms or address the condition. In the end we were left standing in downtown Memphis at 9:30 with two hungry and tired toddlers with nowhere to go. Not the best way to start such a somber trip.
