Treated like royalty at The Palace!
It's all about the service here. It's so thoughtful. They anticipate your needs. And any issue they can help with, they will resolve. It's always fabulous staying here.

5 star lobby, 2 star room
They spent all of their money on the lobby and the restaurant. The room was quite awful. Narrow shower tub with mildew curtain. No coffee. Loud, whining, moaning fridge. No mini bar. Nothing about this room was anything above 2 stars. 4 star Marquis is 2 blocks away and much, much nicer.

Great hotel for families!
Hotel is beautiful, classic style beauty, we enjoyed our stay there. In dining was only bad thing during our stay, we ordered dinner after long flight from Europe, we waited for one hour, and when we called, they told us that they don't have our order in their system. Pool area is good, clean, very pleasant. Hotel is in good area, Financial district, lots of shops, Macy's and Disney store few blocks away from hotel, very good for families. Lots of homeless people on the streets is some kind of trademark of San Francisco, hotel obviously can't do nothing about this, but it is a little stressful to see same man sleeping in the same spot on the middle of the sidewalk nearby hotel entrance from Market street, in a cold weather, city should solve this somehow, this is really bad. Regardless, San Francisco is a very beautiful place, and this hotel one of the best places for families.

Good, but...
I’m disappointed in an experience I just had trying to eat in the Palace Hotel Lobby. This was the first time I’ve stayed at the Palace and was unsure where to go upon entering the space this morning. There is NO wayfinding/directional signage to direct us to the left hand side of the facility to get a table. So after awkwardly walking around the lounge for a while, we finally found the hostess stand. We arrived there at 10:25 and had to wait until we were noticed. Finally once we were noticed, the woman said that they were “closed at 10:30 and weren’t seating anyone else”. This was unacceptable to me. Not only because it took us forever to find the host, then to wait t be acknowledged, but WHY on earth does the hotel stop serving breakfast at 10:30 am on a SUNDAY?! So now I’m sitting at a corner bakery waiting for crappy food all thanks to the Palace Hotel. Thanks.
