Festive short break
Sheraton Imperial KL has confirmed my request for high floor and non-smoking room on the morning of check in day, unfortunately it is either doesn’t appears in their system or the front desk staff doesn’t check at all when I check in. Requested for additional toiletries and towel, given that I booked for two adults and one child, it toke around 40 minutes for these items to sent to my room, poor staffing. There was no kettle in the room, again it toke more than half an hour to set after request. Club Lounge is good. The breakfast at Essence is reasonable and good, however, they don’t replenish it. The waitress led us to seat but leave us before ask what what drink we want, sigh, poor hospitality. Sheraton Imperial KL need to improve its hospitality.

A week's stay on way back to UK from New Zealand.
The hotel is certainly an impressive building and includes business / conference facilities, several restaurants, a pool and the full range of facilities one would expect from a high end place. All staff were, in the main, helpful and polite although some on the front reception desk really could do with some customer service training. In fact, many staff thoughout the hotel appeared to be in training, and consequently several mistakes had to be understood in that context. We ate three times at the hotel and the food was disappointing on all occasions. In the Italian restaurant for example, and after a very lengthy wait to be served, we were told that there would be a further delay as the trainee had made a mistake with our pizzas. When the food did arrive it was only partially edible. The pizzas were so hard we simply couldn't eat them. I told the waiter this, but there was no apology or comment at all. Not the type or level of service we expect from a Sheraton hotel. The servicing of our room also left a lot to be desired, with used towels being left, no flannels etc. Those staff in the bar area however were a real credit to the hotel. Julizah in particular was delightful and made a real effort to be engaging and helpful. Our room was lovely: spacious and clean with a reasonable view of the KL Tower. Altogether, a lovely hotel with great facilities but certainly the food and aspects of service we experienced should be improved to fully merit the status claimed.

Exceptional 10.0
A very lovely experience
We had a great stay, location was very convenient. Love the design, very sleek and the ambience was amazing. Breakfast buffet was really nice with great variety from Eastern to Western food, love the juice bar (you can order fresh juice from friendly staffs). I am vegetarian and the restaurant chef was kind enough to cook fresh for me the vegetarian nasi lamak sauce, which helped me enjoy the famous Malaysian dish. I got a special Malaysian bread from friendly staffs (coincidentally it was my birthday) so it was very nice of them. Cleanliness and facilities were perfect, so overall it was a great experience for my parents and me. Thanks all the staffs there for their hospitality.

Fair 4.0
Disappointing stay......
I have stayed at Sheraton Imperial KL many times before - at least 6-7 times over the last 8 years...and this is probably the last time. The hotel and facilities are still very good but what let this hotel down are the staff and their care-factor of ZERO. The staff service is terrible everywhere in this hotel..From meet and greet staff outside to check-in to restaurant and to the Sheraton Club lounge. The staff are not rude but don’t display the quality that is expected of a Sheraton property. Upon approach to the hotel, there seems to be more of a security presence than a warm welcome from the uniformed hotel staff. The ratio of security staff (dressed in all black like nightclub bouncers) to hotel bell staff is 3 to really gives you an uncomfortable feeling. Check-in was okay but items were on the final bill which had been disputed a couple of times before and was assured that the wrong charges would be taken off...however the charges was never reversed and almost charged to the credit card upon check-out. If I didn’t know better, I would think that this is a way to sneak in incorrect charges to the bill when checking out in a hurry. Besides a couple of staff at the club lounge, the lounge staff was very abrupt. No smiles and level of service was very discriminatory. Worst service - Essence Restaurant. We had breakfast and dinner there-our table was never cleared at any seating. I had to clear our table all the time. No coffee/tea was offered.

Poor 2.0
The only thing that stands out is the staff especially Fifi at the front desk and the bellman at the entrance. This is not a 5 star hotel. Toilet did not flush properly. Room was a bit dated. Everything at the hotel had prices like NYC. A pack of Oreos that sells right opposite the hotel in the mall for $0.60 US sells for $3 at the hotel. Really Sheraton this is how you nickel and dime your customers. Also I didn’t see 1 person at the Indian restaurant, reason being price are way too expensive. I dine opposite the twin tower at NZ curry house for 1/10 the price and service with a view of the twin towers. The bar and pool bar was priced like if you are at the club in NYC. Gym was in good condition. The Spa was way too expensive. You get a massage in NYC Chinatown for less the price than at the hotel. Hotel wasn’t quiet either, you can hear construction going on and the traffic. Also please review your bill, checked my bill at 4am a saw a room charge of $64 US. I immediately called the front desk and inquired, only to be told someone from reception will call be back. I waited without going back to sleep. No one called. Went down at 8am and was told it was a mistake. A mistake that cost me 4 hrs of my precious sleep especially when I am on vacation. I wished to those reviewers who rated this hotel as a 5 star. This is my 31st country visiting and no way this is a 5 star. I stayed at boutique 3 star hotel that had way better services. Unfortunately orbitz only allows 1500 words.
