Service as Expected from The Peninsula
Excellent service, up to par with the brand. The facility is a bit dated and has on odd open dining area as the lobby. The room was had an odd set up and the curtains wouldnt close so the outside lights and sun shined directly on the bed while trying to sleep, day or night. My biggest issue was the pricing at the restaurant and for transportation. Really price gouging tourists. Shameful!

Need to improve check in service
Hotel facilities and breakfast was good but the employees at the concierge was not very helpful. We had 15month old baby abd booked 2 rooms as we were traveling with parents. I requested only 1 twin bed room but they gave us 2 twin bed rooms. We requested to change it to king bed room But the lady who helped us for checking in kept saying it is fully booked and unwilling to help us to be waiting list for kind bed room. Indeed we were traveling during the holidays which is one of the peak seasons so it is understood but I want to mention her willingness to help us. We even asked her if twin beds are movable so that we could put them together for baby safety but she kept saying it is impossible. When we checked in we realized the beds are movable (of course it might not meant to be) but we were frustrated by her attitude. Lastly the other room we booked was not ready so we had to wait for more than an hour without definite timeline. She mentioned free welcome drinks at the lobby lounge but we had hard to order our drinks. 2nights of stay, we overall enjoy our stay but first impression I got when I checked in was really unhappy.

Exceptional oasis of calm right on the river
If heading to Bangkok, booking at the Peninsula is simply a must. Recently stayed three nights and wish we stayed longer. The property grounds are stunning nestled right on the river providing sweeping views of the city. The property is immaculately clean, well maintained and easy to navigate. Service was attentive, professional, and incredibly friendly. The staff are genuine, warm and endearing. Tukky at Thiptara deserves special mention. Food was exquisite from the great breakfast spread to the wonderful Thiptara restaurant for dinner. Thiptara was so wonderful that we ate their twice due to the beautiful ambience and outstanding quality of the food. The rooms themselves are spacious with bedroom, sitting area, proper dressing room and full sized bathroom. Rooms have sweeping views over the Chao Phraya. All functions in the rooms are electronic and convenient with the touch of a button. The rooms are styled in a traditional decor, a tad dated, but overall comfortable and pleasant. Spa is outstanding and full gym, sauna, and steam room is on site. Every little detail noted and anticipated. The outdoor pool is beautiful equipped with ample loungers, waterfalls, and beautiful greenery. Access to the rest of the city is so easy with the Peninsula boat taking you to the Sky Train station or the Oriental Pier. Definitely a memorable way to start each day of exploring the city. When I rerun to Bangkok, I will definitely book again without any hesitation.

Not a bad choice - but ...
Pretty good hotel but with room for improvement. Our grand suite in the 32nd floor had a good lay out and great views of the river. The decor is old fashioned but of good quality so the feel is like a 5 star from another century. The sitting area in the lobby is not well planned. It has too many tables of outdated design and the feeling is like a train station or cafeteria. The hotel could improve their weak decor image by investing in new planning and design of that part of the lobby. In the same place they serve afternoon tea. This serving of high tea was a disaster. Cakes, chocolates and scones were of so poor taste quality that most people left more than half. And so did we! Breakfast in the room was also below standard but their Thai restaurant by the river was good. The service is very good. Especially was the check in in our room fanstatic (thank you Kay Kay) and welcome mango plate with tea was also top quality. The pool area is also good for a city hotel. All in all not a bad choice for a hotel in Bangkok, especially if you enjoy nice rooms with old decor and high quality service.

The hotel staffs were friendly and helpful
The first night when we get back to the room at 10pm we had no electricity in the room,so I requested a room change that was done very promptly and the staff were very helpful in arranging the change. The manager offered us complimentary breakfast for our trouble. The next morning we when and tried the breakfast out. There were plenty of choices to chose from. It must be my unlucky day i tried the rice noodle soup first. One spoon in my mouth I nearly vomited the rice noodle tasted like its crock coach infested. I went and got the supervisor and told her how can they give these noodles to people to eat. She just took it away.i was totally ignored no one asked me or approached to give me an explanation.
