Perfect elegance and comfort balance.
Love the water shuttle. Large room, very comfortable. Make spa appointments a bit ahead of time. I tried a same day appointment and they were booked.

Oasis in the City
The Peninsula in Bangkok is absolutely amazing. We decided to stay here for four nights to end our two week southern asia trip and it was a wonderful choice. I will say, it is not cheap, but it is worth every dollar you spend and you really are getting what you pay for. The service is impeccable and every detail of your stay is already thought out for you. From our car service to and from the airport, to the chef being willing to make special requests, to the private river boat that takes guests to and from the Peninsula's private pier, everything here is top of the notch and in a location that still lets you get out and explore all the sights of bangkok and all the wonderful little sub-communities that exist everywhere. I have been to a lot of great places and stayed at many five star resorts and I will say the Bangkok Peninsula ranks up there in our top experiences.

Check in nightmare
This is an amazing hotel, but the check in process was a nightmare. They need to understand the value of time, and many of their guests just arrived from a grueling 10-15 hour flight. Being told they need 30-45 minutes to quality check the room before a guest can go to the room is entirely unacceptable. Their GM needs to stand near the check in desk for a few hours and find out what is really going on in their hotel. Otherwise, especially if this is your first trip to the exotic and amazing city of Bangkok, I would recommend this hotel highly.
