    Nice, relaxing, and refreshing
The lodge was nice and cozy. The staff was friendly and very attentive to our needs. There was not TV which was a nice change. There was a Yahtzee game in the room and a fireplace which created great family time. We enjoyed the heated pool, the beautiful trees and wildlife, as well as the trails that the campsite had to offer.

Room and amenities were perfect, price was rough.
My husband and I took a california trip for our honeymoon and one of our Planned days was driving the Big Sur coastline. Big Sur Lodge was the only thing within miles of our route that had any availability so we had no choice but to pay the $400 asking price for the night. We stayed in a King suite, which was lovely and spotless. We ate dinner and breakfast at the lodge's own restaurant, which was borh convenient and delicious. We even went swimming for a couple of minutes in the heated outdoor pool, until the weather got a little bit too chilly. I understand that we were visiting during peak season and that's why the price was what I was but it was still a bit of a downer. It might have felt more worth it to me if we had been able to stay longer and enjoy making use of the hiking trails and the local park passes being comped (your stay at big sur lodge means you dont have to pay for parking at Julia Pfeiffer Burns state park or Andrew Molera State Park), but we had to get up early and leave for the next 8-hour leg of our drive. Still, the amenities were great and having our own apartment style suite was a really neat experience. Almost felt like staying in a cabin in the Sequoia mountains as a kid, but less secluded from the world and a bit fancier.
