Not happy
All photos show a view overlooking the water and promotes beach front access. Our suite was about two blocks walking distance from the water with no such views as seen in photos. The beach requires a shuttle and did not have any employees onsite to help serve/bring chairs etc. We booked excursions and were not told that they were cancelled due to weather causing us to waste our morning waiting. Overall disappointed for the high price and under delivery.

The staff is amazingly friendly, the concierge gave me great tips on where to hike, and even cared enough to talk to me about my experiences when I saw her the next day. Hana shuts down pretty early (like 9pm), so be prepared for that. I kind of wish the restaurant/bar would stay open later, but you come to this part of the island for the scenic beauty, not the nightlife!

Tranquil Beauty
The classy Hawaii you normally only see in movies! The beautiful 1960s architecture of this resort is nostalgic and the upgraded rooms and amenities that bring it into the 2000s makes it luxurious. Aside from the restaurant on site, this is a non-tipping resort. Their ultimate goal is to serve and please you and all requests we had were met with warmth and kindness. This quiet and private feeling resort encourages unwinding and relaxation. The infinity pool promotes tranquility and gazing out to the ocean and beyond. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here!!

"Experience" a great scam by marketing geniuses!
Whoever owns this place is a genius. Harvard MBA's should study this to understand how easy it is to manipulate people. This place has convinced guests to spend $500+ a night at a hotel with no air conditioning, outdated and very uncomfortable furniture and crappy food simply by using trendy keywords like "experience" and "tradewinds". By experience they actually mean living like its 1970 and by tradewinds they mean the occasional ocean breeze. What absolute geniuses! This place - which has basically no competition - can therefore charge whatever they want and sell guests that they are living an experience. No thanks! Humans invented air conditioning because we like to be comfortable and i prefer my experiences in $500+ a night hotels to at least provide a bed made sometime in the last few years with a bathroom that was updated sooner than 1985. And if you are catering the experience to people who want an authentic Hana experience perhaps they should provide some locally grown and sourced food instead of stuff that was clearly flown in and placed in a freezer for weeks. This is the type of place thats so trendy no one wants to speak negatively about because they want to brag to their friends about their experience - but never return and in private they dislike. Well i'm making my dislike public. I fell for this scam but urge you not to! That being said the pools are great and the staff was very nice and accommodating - but privately even they laughed at the "experience"!!
