Do not use this hotel transportation
Hello, first, let me start by saying that we are repeat visitors to the Grand Hyatt hotel in Bali because we previously really enjoyed the overall experience (amenities, staff, and rooms) and I even gave it 5 star in a previous review. Unfortunatly we had a very bad experience 2 days ago with the Taxi arranged by the hotel and more importantly with how the security and staff of the hotel dealt with the issue. In a nutshel, the driver became abusive and threatening, screaming in front of the children and pointing his finger at my wife and threatening to take pictures. Had to pay him money just to leave. The biggest issue is how the hotel staff dealt with it once told. They said the driver told them differently even though there were 4 people listening and that they can not do anything. This is a warning to all future guests not to order any transportation from the hotel, and a message to the management that their staff and manager should deal with the situation a lot better rather than telling the guest that they are lying… For us, unfortunately, this means we will no longer visit this hotel, having this lapse in basic security where you feel unsafe, to have an abusive driver and a manager and staff too busy to even listen to their guests is unacceptable.

    Very Good 8.0
Good stay, will be back despite the oddities.
THE GOOD: Large room, large bathroom, slightly dated design but still very good. Nice balcony and outdoor seating with view of the pond. The hotel grounds are excellent and the property is large and absolutely beautiful. The beach is big and lovely. Short walk from Bali Collection is also a plus. Wonderful breakfast with both continental and Asian spread. Good free wifi. THE BAD: I had booked 2 rooms with a package that stated FREE LATE CHECKOUT TILL 2 PM. This was part of the package, not an optional feature or request. During checkin, I asked about the Free late checkout. The lady serving us was surprised initially since she had no details of it. When I showed her the Hotels.com email, she said we would most likely get the free late checkout. However, on the last day, we were informed that one room would have late checkout only till 1 pm and the other till 1.30 pm ! THIS IS GROSS UNDER-SERVICE GIVEN THAT I PURCHASED IT AS PART OF THE PACKAGE. The room is very badly laid out, especially since all the power sockets are in one corner of the room! There are no other sockets anywhere else in this huge room! Which means, you need to plug in all your devices, including the kettle or iron in this one corner. SERIOUSLY??? Who designed this room??? There was no electric kettle in my room upon checkin. Also the tea/coffee making closet is just really a very odd and inconvenient closet which doesn't even have a power socket. Please update this ridiculous design!

    Exceptional 10.0
Awesome hotel! Room was huge and beautiful. The gardens are **out of this world** incredible! Someone spent a lot of time landscaping the whole place and the result was beautiful. The staff was very polite and professional. Breakfast was perfect, with a lot of variety of hot and cold food. It is perfect for families. Large swimming pools with a slider (bring an inflatable pool ring - you will thank me...), including a little one for toddlers. My son loved the Kids Club. It was a bit dear (similar to Australian prices for day care), but definitely worth it. The beach was very clean. The hotels in the region pay staff to clean the beach everyday, so you see very little plastic pollution. Location is beautiful, but far from Kuta, so you have to organise your own transportation to the city. I recommend hiring a driver for the day. It is a bit expensive (around A$ 70 for the whole day, negotiable) but definitely worth it. The driver can take you to several places in the same day. I would definitely stay there again. It was great!

    Exceptional 10.0
I had a wonderful stay at the Grand Hyatt Resort and would highly recommend it. It took a bit too long for my check-in, but the drink and chilled towel was a nice touch. The king room I stayed in was great. The complimentary water was much appreciated, especially due to there being such humid weather during my stay in March. The tropical fruit and biscuits were also a nice touch. The cleaning of my room was of a very high standard. I had a beautiful view of the Balinese pool. One of the best pools I have ever seen. The resort’s buildings and grounds, such as the gardens, ponds, pools etc were immaculate. I loved seeing the various wildlife/fauna and flora at the resort. The food at the restaurants was of a good-very good standard and prices reasonable. Cocktails at the Verandah Lounge were expensive compared to the Salsa Bar (which is fantastic for a late arvo cocktail). When checking out I said to reception that the resort had been great. I didn’t appreciate then being told that if I thought that then I should give the hotel a 9 or 10 in this survey. This didn’t need to be said by the staff member. I was planning to give the resort a high rating anyhow. Other than this, the staff were fantastic. Always friendly & willing to please. The grounds’ lights on one of the nights I was there night were turned off because of it being Nyepi (Silent) Day. Having no lights on this night is a real safety concern as it would be easy for a guest to slip and fall.
