    A delightful B & B.

The Crown is a lovely Inn in Old Amersham with a range of grades of rooms. We had the standard room which was very small and would not be suitable for certain people especially the elderly and those with visual problems, especially as there was limited lighting. The hotel was generally clean and the staff were friendly. The hotel has a wonderful restaurant called The Hawkyns, and there are plenty of other pubs and restaurants nearby. It is also very convenient for local country walks and the Chilterns. We would definitely consider going again but choose the larger rooms.

    Just OK

Nice venue. Night concierge was very helpful but the daytime staff just seemed disinterested in their patrons. I know the industry has really struggled but don't take it out on the guests Premises were very clean. Not easy for the old building

    Expected better

Not great in the Bailey room overlooking the car park at the back listening to the bins at 6 o’clock in the morning walls thin listening to next door neighbour snoring before we went to sleep 😴

Unfortunately we only had one night in this fascinating hotel and village. We had an upgrade to a character room, which was quirky but very comfortable. We will definitely be back for another, longer visit.

Classic old coaching inn in great location

As with many old hotels, full of character but the refurbishments in more recent years have been somewhat ‘on the cheap’, need maintenance and/or not well thought through. Eg very lightweight ill-fitting door to bathroom, hook hanging off the door, towel-rail plumbing leaking, shower compartment sealant needs to replacing to avoid floor flooding. Having said all that the place remains a classic building in an enviable location, the staff friendly, Covid restrictions we’ll-observed and…we purchased the rooms on Tesco vouchers so can’t be bad!

    Noise pollution

A lovely old Inn and spacious comfortable room. This was ruined by a large extractor fan from the kitchen which made a loud noise from about 6.15am all day until late into the evening. Such a shame as it would otherwise have been wonderful.
