Peace and comfort in the forest.

We areas happy we chose to stay outside of Yosemite's Southern entrance. Made access into the park easy without having to endure long lines going in and out daily. Tenaya is like going to camp as a kid with wonderful friends and activities abounding!

    Nice but overpriced

The hotel room was decent and the staff was super friendly but we were disappointed by a number of small things - poor water pressure, food was just OK, etc. We had a great time at the pool which was not overly crowded.

    Nice but could be better

Our room had a sticky spot on the carpet and the walls were paper thin. The room above us had kids that were running and stomping late into the nights and early in the mornings. The resort is still operating under limited capacity. Most things, if available, are extra charge. However,Staff was nice and friendly.

Family-freindly small resort at South Gate

The hotel is a bit dated. The pool area is nice but small for the size of the hotel. The adult area was overrun by children, as was the hot tub. There is a small "private pool" by reservation but no one told us of this during check-in so that was disappointing. We were lodged in the cottages and this was a more expensive option. It was a nice enough room but overcrowded with furnishings and a very small bathroom. It had a bit of a basement feel. The exterior of the cottages is a bit run down. There was one real dining option at the hotel, other than the coffee place. and the food quite frankly was awful. We made the drive to Oakhurst for our last two nights (of 3) and had some excellent meals there (Smokehouse 41 and the South Gate Brewery were great!). I think if you are traveling with younger kids this might be a good option but request to stay in the main lodge.

Not really a relaxing resort but close to park.

I read somewhere that this place was one of the top resorts in the country. If that’s true- COVID regs have removed a lot of the service. Pros: really close to the Wawona entrance to Yosemite. Cons: still no daily housekeeping. Lots and lots of kids. If you have kids they will love it- lots to do, and they can feel free to run around with all the other ones running around. The pool/pools were not relaxing filled to the brim with screaming kids. Seemed like they were having a great time. Our room was right on the parking lot, but we could never park closer than 10 minutes from the room, so even that was not a benefit. We had read on their website that the spa was closed, but when we arrived, spa was open, but since we hadn’t reserved anything in advance there was no spa for us. Though they did try to charge us for some non existent spa charge. Restaurant was ok, very limited menu. The property itself could use some painting and care.

Very friendly staff, they were happy , told us about hotel activities, and gave us hints for things to do in the park. The hotel was an A+ as far as meeting COVID standards

Great two night stay in Explorer Cabin

Friendly and helpful check in. We enjoyed a two night stay in one of the Explorer Cabins. Cabin location and amenities were fantastic. Nice kitchenette set-up allowed us to make breakfast, have snacks, cocktails, etc. in our cabin. Beds not super comfortable but they were ok for two nights. Dined at Jackalopes both nights...friendly service, good food. We would definitely recommend and return!
