Really did not like this place
I’m really easy going, but I did not like anything about this place. There is nothing more pathetic, petty, and uncool than to tell a customer after checking in that if they want WIFI they have to pay US$10 for access and limited data. Seriously? Maybe 10 years ago but just add a few dollars into the nightly rate. Worse, they hand you a ridiculous sealed white envelope that you tear open to find a colored piece of paper with your internet code. When I got to my room, mine didn’t even work. It’s was spent. So I had to go all the way back downstairs and sign paperwork to authorize a new one. It was pathetic. Second, I was advised there was a gym. But it didn’t dawn on anyone at reception to further explain that the elevator actually doesn’t go to floor 4 where the gym is. You either have to walk out of the hotel, though a neighboring parking garage, into a strange office buiding, then up a different elevator to get there, or take a random service elevator that will get you there but then you will be trapped in a stairwell with 8 floors of locked doors. The employees were all nice but were totally paralyzed with an inability to answer the most simple question or request without first having to consult a manager. The room was satisfactory but lacked basics like a hairdryer. I’ve stayed in probably 150 hotels this last year at all different levels. This just had a terrible vibe and lots of ineptitude. I think it’s the worst of the huge lot. The location is exceptional though.

Nice hotel.
We had a great time staying at the Cape Town Lodge. The stuff was really friendly and their driver Wesly gave us a great tour to some of the wineries.

All was well. One downer was the second level parking... scary to go up and walk down.. luckily the dude at security gave an open spot on the normal parking.

It is not a friendly hotel anymore. I had to ask several times for service. The manager did not speak to guests and most of the front desk personnel were cold.

Memorable stay in Cape Town
Nice uplifting hotel in one of the more scenic parts of Cape Town -- views of Bo Kaap were really nice. Also in a good area -- I walked from the airport bus station to the hotel in a fancy dress, alone, hauling some serious luggage, and didn't feel threatened at all. Bummer that the hotel pool was closed for "winter", come on peeps it's 80 degrees Fahrenheit out during the day and I want to jump into your beautiful pool after I've hiked Table Mountain! The shuttle service was good and could be arranged on very short notice. Internet was down a couple times but the staff were always responsive to get it fixed. Lobby is beautiful and room has a lot of character. Would stay again
