    Customer relations training needed.
I encountered two front desk clerks during me 3-day stay. One was professional, courteous and efficient. The other... I returned to the hotel at 4:30 pm after being out for the day and room had not been made up. I called the front desk to ask why. Flippant and uncaring would be the best words to describe the response I received: "Well, housekeeping is done for the day." When I asked why my room hadn't been made up, she responded, "I don't know. I just started working. Maybe I can call housekeeping and get you something. Do you need something?" If you can picture someone rolling their eyes, that would be the tone of voice being used. I didn't hear, "I'm sorry. How can I help you?" Or, "How can I make this right for you?" Now, I don't require a ton of service. I really just wanted to be sure to have a dry towel and some coffee. None had been left the day before. But the way the front desk clerk acted, I was being bothersome. I went to the desk to talk to her in person and waited for two minutes while she finished a personal phone call in the other room. She later told me that she saw me come in on the cameras, so it wasn't simply a case of not knowing a guest was waiting. I told her that I wanted to tell her to her face how I was feeling. I actually saw the eyes roll this time. This representative of the hotel made an easily solved situation into one where a guest felt disrespected.

    Poor 2.0
Too many issues to list them all
    1) hot tub pool was out of service as it was during last annual stay 2) pool changing rooms: doors broken and/or not closable, showers not functioning 3) hallway carpets so soiled could not walk on them barefoot without blackening soles of our feet (learned this during our two forced room changes explained below). 4) after three previous annual stays, Northeast access door lock & door closer still do not function correctly 5) after three years, keys still do not unlock door at end of day & had to be re-scanned at office 6) Electric wall receptacles were defective in all 3 rooms: plugs kept falling out 1st Room #139: A/C unit defective, not cooling room, programmed for a timed use,not to a satisfy room temp. Were offered another room down the hall, declined: it smelled of cat urine. One of the vanity lamps would not illuminate. No ironing board provided. No facial tissues provided. Only one set of towels provided. Toilet base loose, not set perpendicular to wall Shower knob hard to turn: mounting screw out of wall against knob Shower water stream did not reach the center of the tub Bathroom door binding at latch Heavy dust layer on lamp shades no bathroom exhaust air:could not hold a light shard of tissue 1st morning, water poured from bathroom ceiling from 2nd floor Offered #261 upstairs, had to move ourselves, no elevators Sat on bed, it collapsed Had to move ourselves to #254 clothing hanger rack pulled out of the wall sink: hot on right, cold on left Never here again!!!!!

When we got to the hotel room there was only one towel in the room. My husband went down to the desk to get a couple of towels. He came back with 2 towels, 2 faces clothes and 2 bath mats. 1 towel the 2 face towels and the bath mats were all damp. The maid never came in and made the beds, emptied the trash or did anything. The lamp in the corner of the room didn't work. The hot tub was taped off so that it couldn't be used. There was 3 pillows on one of the beds. I threw my pillows on top of those three. When I picked it up on Sunday there was a urine stain under the pillows. The walls were paper thin and we could hear the people next door talking in quiet voices. The doorways weren't shoveled.

It is my fault for not reading reviews before booking. This Days Inn is very dirty. Hallways are dark, smell and have large stains throughout. When walking through to our room we obviously walked by the smoking rooms as the smell was so strong we could hardly breathe. That's fine as that is what those rooms are for, just not the best feeling walking through. After going to our concert we returned to our room and found that our TV did not turn on. After troubleshooting ourselves we called the front desk for assistance. They said they would be right up to look. They didn't show. Called them again, still nothing. A TV is not a necessity, but their customer service is seriously lacking. There was absolutely zero water pressure in the bathroom and the toilet constantly ran. Overall, we had beds to sleep in, but I would never recommend this property to anyone and was embarrassed that I booked it for our girls' trip.

The hotel is in a busy location with lots of traffic, but that is expected for Minneapolis. The staff that we met were very friendly. Our room was clean, and parking is close to the actual rooms. However, the beds are some of the hardest and most uncomfortable I've ever slept on. It felt like I was sleeping on a table instead of a bed. There is no mirror in the room, only one in the bathroom, which is inconvenient for two people trying to get ready. The hallways and outside smelt strongly of marijuana, and people were openly smoking it in the parking lot. It smelled so strongly of it in the hallway that we thought that they also smoked it there. Overall, it was very inexpensive and you get what you pay for. I most likely won't be staying there again.
