In the room stay building at the back of the property on all the electrical outlets the Earth is live! If you have a three prong plug, one for live, one for neutral and one for earth, then the earth is supposed to protect you if your appliance (i.e laptop, tv or microwave has an internal short). If your appliance was to be shorted then the current would through the earth prong on your How do I know this? I'm an electrical engineer. I checked all outlets with Current is not going to earth
