About Chateau Versailles, Montreal

Chateau Versailles is located on downtown Montreal's Golden Square Mile, just 16 miles (25.7 kilometers) from Dorval Airport and 40 miles (64.4 kilometers) from Mirabel Airport.

Hotel Features.
Château Versailles stands on grounds originally owned by a religious order of distinguished French aristocrats known as the Gentlemen of St. Sulpice. At the turn of the 18th Century, it consisted of a fort and château, with gardens and a reflecting pond, designed by Abbé Vachon de Belmont in honor of the original Château Versailles Hotel, built by French King Louis XIV. It wasn't until 1958 that Marie-Louise and André Villeneuve turned the vintage townhouse into a small hotel, called Versailles Lodge. The family later purchased 3 adjacent townhouses, thus creating Château Versailles as it now stands, bringing together 4 distinct homes, styles, and histories.

Le Boudoir offers its guests a quiet, cozy atmosphere as it serves a magnificent continental buffet breakfast Monday-Friday, 7 AM-10:30 AM, and Saturday-Sunday, 7 AM-11 AM. In keeping with this old-world charm, there are no elevators in this 4-story mansion, only stairs. However, the bellhop will be delighted to help with luggage. As a contemporary touch, the hotel supplies complimentary WiFi. Chateau Versailles also has close proximity to fine dining, entertainment, and shopping.

The guestrooms, which vary in size and shape, are well appointed and tastefully decorated with original Victorian details and high ceilings. The rooms have extras such as luxurious bathrobes along with complimentary wireless Internet access and cable television.

Would stay here again.
This was a perfect location for us. The room was quiet and the street was full of art, cafes, easy access to buses. Friendly staff, very nice breakfast, thick towels! The bathroom was quite small, however.

Try it ; you'll like it!
CV is a nice place, not like any other--not a chain, typical architecture, small, vintage decor, good neighborhood near transportation and basic services (hair, nails, dry cleaning, pharmacies, etc.), surrounded by very upscale condos, and very safe. Near fantastic Museum of Fine Art--don't miss current Love for All exhibit! Hotel is very clean, and the room was quite large. The bed was very comfortable and the sheets luxurious. The place is due a little attention, like paint. Service was generally good/adequate, but they never did send anyone to fix the A/C after two requests over two days--not a huge problem due to nice temp outside. The breakfast was generous with several options, but they had the same options every day with no variety. There is no elevator which I should have checked out, and no bellman before 7 a.m., not ideal for seniors. All in all, it was a nice stay.

Weekend Getaway
Lovely hotel. Helpful staff. Very comfortable bed. Great location. Breakfast was good. Our only complaint was that our room was right next to the reception desk, so each morning we could hear the bustle of guests checking out and going to breakfast. Otherwise quiet in terms of street noise. BIXI bikes right on the corner. Close to our favorite restaurant Kazu and the museums.
